Guest guest
Hi Dorothy > > Hi all. I'm awaiting two batches of T3 from two different suppliers, but I'm almost out of pills. Is it dangerous to just stop altogether? > I don't know the answer to your question, but someone else may come along to answer. I nearly ran out just after New year, as mexican drugstore had previously delivered in two weeks and suddenly this went up to 5 weeks for reasons outside their control. I decided to halve my dose - I was on 100mcg and feeling good. When I went down to 50mcg I felt all my old symptoms come back. It has taken me up to now to get rid of them again, with gradual increases. I am now on 125mcg a day too. I hope your T3 arrives soon Best wishes Sue
Guest guest
, will you reply direct to Dorothy please and not on the forum. Many thanks. Sheila Can anyone advise what will happen when I stop taking them. Is it dangerous to just stop altogether? Many thanks for your thoughts. > > >
Guest guest
Hi, If you've been on T3 only for more than a couple of months, then you will probably have zero T4 stored in your blood. This situation is ok if you take regular t3 as the t3 cannot be stored for very long. (hence the storage of t4). If you suddenly stop taking t3 and have no t4 stored which can be converted, you'll become hypothyroid pretty quickly and sleepy. (Bears stop producing T3 in order to hibernate!). You'll run on adrenalin for quite a time which makes you feel tired and wired. After about 6 months you can get in real trouble, involving coma and death, but your meds are bound to arrive before then > > Can anyone advise what will happen when I stop taking them.
