Guest guest
Hi Lizzie, I was on Armour which I eventually got on the NHS, then I changed to ERFA which I told them about retrospectively, and got that on prescription and then, when that didn't work I asked if I could try T3 and now I get that on scrip. To be honest, they were happier prescribing the T3 as they knew what it was. They have a duty of care to get you well and if you want to be or feel better on the T3 then just ask them for it.....nothing wrong with asking.Don't be worried or attatched to what your endo may think about you chopping and changing your meds.... he wants to get you right and he'll see that you are actively seeking health. Changing to T3 alone has changed my life but it really does take a while to get used to it and find optimum dosages and dosage times. I really do understand your cautiousness but you deserve what you need......you've got a young family to find energy for too right ? It's not like you or I or people like us can just potter along tryin' this regime and that.... we need energy now. The only other thing is to maybe set an allocated time of 'retrial' of the ERFA for yourself..say six or eight weeks (cos it really does take a while for your body to acclimatize) and if you don't feel better, think about the T3 again. What do you really feel is causing the pains ? thinking of you.... soooooo relentless, so boring isn't it. julia
Guest guest
Hi Nice to hear from you and I am so pleased that T3 is working for you. I think you are right, I do need to give it at least 6 weeks to see how I am back on the Erfa. I did feel good on the t3 but still had occasional episodes of these pains in my legs. I have no idea what causes them, my gp has done numerous blood tests and I have had my hips an knees x-rayed which showed normal mild degenerative changes. I have become to wonder if it has anything at all to do with my thyroid, although they did come on 13 months into T4 treatment. I did have a slipped disc confirmed by mri scan in 2002 and have started to wonder if the pain may be referred from my back. However, the residual niggles I have from that are all down my left leg and into my left foot and not both legs as these pains are. Yes I know what you mean about not having time to put up with not feeling right, it is hard with a family and when working as well, so I will giveit a short trial only and if no improvement on today i will swap back to T3 only and face the consequences then.
