Guest guest
Morning All Finally resolved, I think ! Dr called this morning to discuss recent blood test results. My T3 is sitting at 2.2 (reference not given) but says this is a good result. Last T3 which I was unaware was done, was 1.9 (reference not given) and he said the 75mcg shows a definate sign of improvment. Phosphate level is only marginally low and is a result of my Bendroflumethiazine treatment (Meniere's Disease) - unfortuneatly there is no alternative diuretic which is as effective in removing endolymphatic fluid - so stuck on this for life ! He's going to write to my Endo re above result and justify not lowering the dosage. Last bloods were drawn after I stopped my Levothyroxine for a week, a handy trick I read elsewhere. Happy days :-) Yours ... Neil
Guest guest
Hi Thanks for taking the time to reply. Threre are no " cures " for Meniere's Disease, I am however aware of the procedure your friend has had, it's called Vestibular Rehabilitation. The technique is used in those patients who have " progressed " to a state of almost total loss of vestibular function and it's designed to help them " learn " to walk, move etc without the usual signals feeding the brain with balance, position etc. Recent research I have done, shows a significant link between Thyroid disfunction to Meniere's symptoms. I only wish it was so easy as to get a " cure " unfortunately it doesn't exist. Fingers crossed my early Thyroid treatment may have a positive impact on my Meniere's. Yours ... Guest guest
Hi , I am interested in knowing what this technique is called because quite a few of our members suffer with Meniere's disease and it would be good to put such interesting information in our FILES section so it is available for all members at all times. Luv - Sheila Hi Neil, have you heard of the chiropractic technique for curing Meniere's ? My best friend had this very badly and was completely cured of it in three sessions. The manipulation dislodges the crystals that have formed in the ear. It does have to be caried out by a practitioner that has been specifically trained... If you are interested then I'll get the name of the technique for you. If you get your Menieres cured, maybe that will open other thyroid treatments for you. Guest guest
Hi Neil, I have this problem to- have had symptoms of meniere`s for some time (1989). get these attacks about every 4/6 times a year, approx, it is hard to say for sure as sometimes they are quite bad and it is hard to get on with your life work etc: and some times mildwith just a little balance probs. i think it is the same as autoimmune ear disease.(same symptoms). have not got any treatment for it.while at my doctors happened to mention it but was given travel pills. so have not gone back to doctors as they are useless.I told him I had no nausea with it only the giddy and balance! what plonkers they are . I wish they would Liston for once. if you hear of a treatment that may work let me no as it is very unpleasant. Angel.
