Guest guest
Day 2: took 10mcg on waking (6am) and mid-afternoon. Crashed in the afternoon about 5pm, possibly due to meeting customers and/or eating buffet of german sausage, cheese and bread (no fruit). Hi , you crashed in the middle of the afternoon because after taking your first 10mcgs at 6.00a.m. the effect leaves your body in 6 to 8 hours. We usually recommend taking the first dose around 8.00a.m. If you continue to take your first dose at 6.00a.m. then take your second dose around 1.00p.m. You need to keep the engine oiled! You should be taking Selenium 200mcgs daily with food, 1/200mgs Vitamin C and have you had your adrenal function checked through Genova Diagnostics by doing the 24 hour salivary test to see where your cortisol and DHEA levels lie at four specific times during the day? Low adrenal reserve means that no amount of thyroid hormone will work as it should if it is not be properly utilised at cellular level. Other causes are low ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin d3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc, so if possible, get these checked out too. Never allow a doctor to tell you that you don't have a problem because your results are within the reference range, you need to know where in the range. Get these results and post them on the forum so we can help with interpretation. last, don't expect too much too quickly, which I get the feeling you are. Your body needs to repair itself after being abused through taking the mainly inactive prohormone thyroxine for so long. Guest guest
Hi , Well put, it isn't a stimulant but it keeps you ticking over... some people say they can't sleep if they have it at night, but I've never had this problem. 3 x 10 mcg doses spread evenly apart might do it for you, but be aware of racing heart, feeling too hot and generally wired.... though these can be attributed to low adrenals. The t3 will tax the adrenals so if you start to feel not quite on the ball, don't just up the t3, drop it back and get the adrenals tested with a saliva test... (about £70 - the doc won't run this ). Take as much vitamon c as you can without getting the runs as the adrenals need vit c. Also, remember to take selenium. It's a fine balancing act and you can't just rush in.... if one thing stops working, it's generally because of some other factor..... you seem to have a handle on it, trust your instincts... you know if you're not right... The German sausage sounds wonderful - who needs the fruit anyway . > > Hi all, > > I just thought I'd give an update how things are progressing on my T3 diet (having been on 100mcg T4 for 5+ years, now on 50mcg T4, 20mcg T3). >
Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Ah, good point about the timing. 6am is good for me as I then commute for 1.5 hours (ugh!) and then ready for porridge & raisins at work. I will start taking 2nd dose about 1pm. Regarding tests 1) I will sort out 24 hour saliva test (real soon!!) 2) What tests can I expect GP to request (and be able to understand) and which need to be done by an endo? My GP agreed to the basic TSH, t3f, t4f, etc but not some of the more " exotic " ones you previously suggested - saying a consultant would need to order these. Is this BS or should I see a different GP? > last, don't expect too much too quickly, which I get the feeling you are. > Your body needs to repair itself after being abused through taking the > mainly inactive prohormone thyroxine for so long. I think you are right; as always I am being hasty! Thanks
