Hi everyone haven't posted in awhile as my daughter is still very poorly and

I've been caring for her.About 5 weeks ago i started to have really bad loose

stools and cramps thought it was a bug, 5 weeks later I'm still loose I've had a

test and nothing shown up, i had a thyroid test at the same time including a T3

which they actually did!.My GP has informed me I'm slightly more under active

than before and T3 is normal.I have been taking half a 25mcg T3 tablet and 1

adrenal extra for about a year, i know this is probably wrong but because i was

OK on this i just carried on as my daughters health just took up all my brain

power.I thought i was over active as my current symptoms are shaking hands loose

stools a bit of weight loss anxiety.I would be so grateful if someone could read

my results for me the GP wants to put me back on Levo but it really didn't suit

me but i need to get some strength back to care for my family.I'm due to speak

to Dr P on the 23rd.Warm Regards . Serum free triiodothyronie -3.8 Serum

TSH - 4.36.

You might be suffering with low adrenal reserve Tracey. Check

out the Adrenal Questionnaire in our ADRENAL FOLDER - accessible from the FILES

section on the Home Page of this forum thyroid treatment

and complete that and see how you score. Also check out the Adrenal home

Testing and see what happens. Did you take any T3 before you had your blood

drawn? a FT3 is 3.8 and TSH of 4.36 definitely show that your thyroid function

is underactive.

I am sure that I have already responded to this message, so why

has it come in again - I am sure this has been happening to one or two messages

lately.

Hi Shelia thanks so much for your reply i've just been to the GP she thinks the

loose stools are not connected to the thyroid. To answer your question no i

didn't take any thyroid meds before my bloods were taken, please could you take

a look and my test results. Warm Regards .xx

TSH 4.36 (0.3-3.94)

T3 3.8 (3.7-6.7)

T4 8.3 (12.3-20.2)

Write to your GP and send the attached document with your letter

asking for all the specific minerals and vitamins to be tested as there is an

association between low levels of these and hypothyroidism. These show the

research that has been done into these and there are plenty of links to show

that it is not 2all in your head " . If she refuses again, then ask for a

second opinion and if she wants to know why, tell her that you do not feel she

is willing to look after your health as a doctor should be doing. I will send

you my list of 'good' doctors recommended by our members who know more about

such things than she does. She is NOT a specialist and she should produce

similar evidence as I have produced here to show there is no connection between

the two. Low levels means that your own thyroid hormone or replacement thyroid

hormone cannot be fully utilised at the cellular level.

I say write a letter so the GP doesn't turn round and try to

blind you with science - which many do, often talking rubbish. Ask for the

letter of requests to be placed into your medical notes and ask also for the

results, to include the reference range for each test done to be given to you.

You can then post them on the forum and we can help with their interpretation.

Hi Sheila

Yes I am taking selenium and 4 x 1000 vit c. I have just had a weeks break from

progesterone cream. I had hysterectomy years ago . Think I will use cream

continually in future, but it may be a coincidence. I have asked for all the

mineral tests but my GP just did ferritin and B12. I think he thinks its all in

my head as the Endo says I'm within range !!

I'm getting anxious now as I was getting so much better and now getting worse

each day.

Thanks again Debbie xxx

Hi Tracey, You are most probably not yet at optimum dose- that tends to be 125-150mcg- make sure you doc will let your TSH go down to 1.0 ( or lower) as that is the average for healthy folk. There's not much point in doing FT4 and FT3 until your TSH is in range- usually 0.5 to 5.0. Have a look at the forum files for suggestions of vits and minerals that help the thyroid hormone work properly- you may be able to get your doc to test for them- zinc selenium and iron are vital. > thyroid treatment > From: traceym69@...> Date: Fri, 3 Jun 2011 10:31:48 +0000> Subject: Advice Please> > Hi > > Hope you can help.> > I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 4 months ago, I was for 3 months on 50mcg of levothyroxine a day but this has been put up to 100mcg.
