Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I stopped my Erfa for 4 days before the blood tests, I had run out and was waiting for it to be delivered to the chemists. In fact there was a mix up and the Erfa wasn't ordered so they gave me 2 grain Armour tablets because I had run out completely. My endo tries this at every visit, to reduce my meds and I am getting really fed up of it, I wonder has anyone tried refusing blood tests completely? I get really pissed when during the consultation he says that he thinks I should increase my meds then when the numbers come back it all goes out the window. I am going to write to him and tell him I'm happy on the 2 grains a day and that I did not discuss and agree to taking less meds so will stay on the current dose. Guest guest
Thanks for posting all of these, but none of them mean a single thing without we have the reference range to check them by Kerry. We need to know whether they are at the top, the middle or the bottom of the range, as this matters very much. I can tell you that even without a free T3 test (which was not done) it looks like you are probably NOT converting the mainly inactive thyroxine (T4) as your free T4 is high in the range (I know that range more or less). This shows that you have too much of this hormone floating around in your blood and it is not doing anything, probably only causing your symptoms of T4 toxicity. T4 MUST convert to the active thyroid hormone T3. T3 is needed by every cell in your body and brain to make them function properly. If T4 is not converting, this will result in you continuing with the many symptoms of hypothyroidism. Let us have the reference ranges for the rest of your results and we can take it from there. Your B12 is far too low. You need to take some sublingual B12 1000mcgs tablets to help build up this level. It should be right at the top of the reference range, nearer to 700/800. You can buy these from a good health food store. Solgar brand are one of the best. Your ferritin level is very, very low and you need some form of elemental iron such as Ferrous Sulphate 200mcgs x 2 daily - taken with high dose vitamin C 3/4000mgs daily with food to help with absorption and to stop you getting constipated. Alternatively, take Spatone. Not sure of the amount here, but ask at your health food store, or somebody here can help you. Luv - Sheila OK, I have no shame & have posted up my blood test results to see if someone might be able see anything that might be helpful. They don't mean much to me at this stage?! I've been on 75 micrograms of Levothyroxine since June 2010 & not doing well on it, at all. The doctor told me that the 'normal' TSH range at the lab is 0.27 - 4.2. (Funny, I thought it was 0.3 to 3.0!).
