Guest guest
I've recently changed from 3 and a half grains armour to the same dosage of nature-throid. For about a month I was taking a combination of armour and nature-throid and then since 20th Jan just nature-throid. I also take one nutri-adrenal on alternate days, as I've done for a while now. (Although I sometimes wonder if I should try taking less thyroid meds and take nutri-adrenal every day) For the past couple of weeks I've had the worst symptoms of fatigue and foggy brain that I've had for a while and I'm wondering if the change of meds might be a factor. (The other thing which occurred to me was that from about June to October last year I was under a lot of stress and emotionally upset by family issues and bereavement - could this be a belated reaction to that?) I realise nature-throid has slightly more mgs, but is there a difference in potency between it and armour? I don't know whether I should try increasing my dose slightly. If anyone can help alleviate my confusion with any advice/personal experience I'd be really grateful.
Guest guest
I think what you need to do is to start yourself on a PROPER course of Nutri Adrenal Extra. You need to stop your thyroid meds for a week and take one NAE with breakfast, and another with your lunch (don't take any after 1.00p.m. because this might cause you to stay awake at night). After 7 days, introduce your natural thyroid extract at the dose you were taking before, and add another NAE with your breakfast. You should keep increasing your Nutri Adrenal Extra in this way, until you start to feel much better. If you find you are needing to take up to 6 NAE daily, this is usually a sign you need something stronger such as Isocort, or a course of hydrocortisone, taken in a physiological dose. Meanwhile, ask your GP to check your levels of ferritin, vitamin B`12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc because any one of these may be low in the reference range, in which case, your thyroid hormone is unable to be properly utilised at cellular level. When you get the results, post them here, together with the reference range for each test done. A lot of people were not getting on particularly well with the Nature Throid, though I believe this has changed recently. If they have added more cellulose (as they did with the new Armour), then crunch up the tablets before swallowing as this apparently helps with their absorption.
