Guest guest
Actually, I thought this link went to the article that is in today's Sunday Telegraph about somebody who has been taking levothyroxine for 6 months and still suffering symptoms. However, when I read the comments online at the link below, this is not relating to today's article. Do we have to wait 24 hours before such articles go online? I was furious with Dr Dan Rutherford who responded by writing … " When an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) is the only problem, thyroid replacement therapy (levothyroxine) usually works well and quickly, so it appears there is something extra going on here…….and didn't I just know it…..WAIT FOR IT…..the very next word he used was " Depression can certainly mimic the symptoms of hypothyroidism so I would encourage you to stick with the antidepressants - it can take several weeks to see results… " Is it any wonder there are tens of thousands of people suffering so unnecessarily when we have plonkers calling themselves 'doctor' - like this idiot. Guest guest
This is a quote from Broda from his book: Solved: The riddle of heart attacks. & #8206; " I have found relatively few patients suffering from psychosomatic disease. It is reasonable to suspect that a clue has been missed in those not showing organic changes. Some of my contemporaries feel that 90 percent of their patients are plagued with mental disorders. There has been a steady stream of these coming to my office; in most cases thyroid deficiency has been overlooked. Some colleagues are convinced that it is I who has psychosomatic disease, but if relieving patients' symptoms with thyroid therapy will cure their miseries, I shall be glad to carry the accusation to my final resting place. " ~Broda ~ LOL, I've always loved his intelligence and his wit. Cheers, JOT
