Guest guest
Yes, he does prescribe T3 and natural thyroid extract, but sadly, he doesn't treat adrenals and for many of us, this is very important. I will send you a list of doctors that will prescribe T4/T3 combination, T3 alone or natural thyroid extract. Luv - Sheila Could someone please advise me as to whether the thyroid expert Dr S in Birmingham prescribes T3 or natural dessicated to New Patients. I know he does for patients already with him but i was reading someones old message and was a bit confused as to whether he treats with T3 or NDT for a new patient. I am considering asking my GP for a referral to Dr S and as i feel extremely ill and its a long way from me to travel, i want to make sure that i can have something other than Levothyroxine as ive been on that for nearly three years and feel terible on it. ,_._,___
Guest guest
Angie, T3 may not be the answer to why you feel so bad on Thyroxine.... Have you got any test results? TSH or free t4 ot free T3? it may be simply that you are not on enough. It could also be that you are short of B12, or ferritin or zinc, copper, d3.... Are you taking 200mcg selenuim daily to help you to convert t4 into t3? Are you taking plenty of vitamin C to help your adrenals? If you sort out all the above and it's still rubbish then it's not unreasonable for yout doctor to give you T3.. My doctor prescribes it on the NHS. Have a look at the dosing advice for doctors in the pulse magazine article, in the files..... ( thyroid treatment/files/ you have to scroll down a long long way to find the article) it suggests T3 if the patient is not good on T4 alone. Your doctor could read the pulse magazine article then answer questions on it to get a CPD unit.... (I got 10 / 10 and a certificate and my doc was impressed.) If you have any blood test results, please post them on here.... x > > Hi everyone, > > I am considering asking my GP for a referral to Dr S and as i feel extremely ill and its a long way from me to travel, i want to make sure that i can have something other than Levothyroxine as ive been on that for nearly three years and feel terible on it. >
