Guest guest
we are seeing our endo today, hopefully he can enlighten us with what the hospital is up to... she was in great pain two weeks ago it had been going on for some days already, took her to AE they did ct scan and told us no kidney stones, it was just a bad back!!!! got a letter with three appointments a couple of days later, ultra sound, xray, and cystoscopy. I couldnt attend with her, so dropped her off. All she knows is they told her they think she has a kidney stone, but they are doing nothing appart from painkillers which we had to change for stronger ones then even stronger ones again. She now has an appointment for 4th March for a look at her bladder, then another for the 16th for another ct scan and to see the consultant. I rang the hospital and they told me the usual wait was 16 weeks. EEkk my poor mum also has to have a growth biopsied next wednesday from the underside of her tongue. I am knackered from all her appointments.
Guest guest
My husband has suffered from kidney stones in the past. Even the tiniest is very painful. The best thing she can do is to drink copious amounts of water, to help it pass through. It will be painful but it comes out and the pain goes (like having a baby). If the stone was bigger they would have seen it in the first place, which indicates it could be very small. My husband's was smaller than a grain of sand but the pain was terrible. She may have more than one little stone so will have to keep drinking water to flush them all out until the pain has gone. The pain is out of proportion to the size of the stone. I remember millennium night, we were supposed to be going to a dinner and dance, but I ended up chatting to someone on the computer at midnight whilst my husband was writhing around on the bed in agony with a kidney stone. At least if you mother can pass the kidney stone/s it will ease the pain. Hopefully there is no problem with the other tests she is having. Lilian told us no kidney stones, .....................they told her they think she has a kidney stone, but they are doing nothing appart from painkillers
Guest guest
Lillian, it was big enough for them to show my mother on the screen, I think the junior in A & E just missed it. They sent her an appointment throught the post and put her under a consultant without us even knowing. my mother has had this before and was told she had wind, ans was left without pain relief one of the other times she was wriggling on the floor begging my dad to knock her out. I wonder if this is why she always has blood in her urine and so do I, i thought once before a few years ago i had a stone, but was not sure as i had gallstones as well at that time. But now i am wondering, i too was wriggling around but it did not last as long went to the loo and it stopped. I honestly believe he just missed it being junior. They told her it at the time is in her back next to her spine. The endo today has her notes he is a lovely man and i am sure he will enlighten us. > > My husband has suffered from kidney stones in the past. Even the tiniest is very painful.
