Guest guest
I was thinking today of something the doctor said this afternoon. He said most of the time GP's etc. don't test for antibodies as at the end of the day it makes no difference in treatment. I was diagnose Hypo at what I would think is fairly young...about 28. I suspect however I was Hyper the hypo much before that. I was always super skinny...had bouts of panic type attacks...racing heart etc. as a teen as well I would guess a degree of Attention Deficit disorder. When I was diagnosed it was told to me it " could " be hashimoto based on a family history of Hypo.(both my mother's side and father's side have strong thyroid histories...I believe my paternal grandmother suffered from Graves..and cousins have Hypo and Fibro/ME/rheumatoid Arthritis) As far as I am aware up until today I've never had a test to either confirm or deny. My burning question is...does it make a difference? Do people with Hashi's need different type of treatment? Do they need to watch out for other problems? Because it is auto-immune are there other risks involved? Just trying to get an education...it's been a long time coming and I think my meds are starting to clear my head enough to pay attention. :-) Cheers
