Guest guest
Hi Folks, I have recently done a 24hr Saliva test from Genova. This is my first one and I have the results and can see I am low on several readings but I wondered if some kind person would tell me what i need to do now? I understand you can buy adrenal supplements but I dont know what I would need, what dose, etc. I think I read that you need to stop Armour for a week prior to adrenal supplementation? Do you take adrenal supplementation for ever or will they recover after a while and medication no longer be needed? My results as as follows: (Reference range in Brackets) Cortisol Levels Morning sample 13.1 (normal) ref range 12-22 Sample 2 1.6 (low) 5.0-9.0 Sample 3 0.4 (low) 3.0-7.0 Sample 4 0.6 (low) 1.0-3.0 Total daily cortisol 15.7 (low) 21-41 DHEA Sample 2 0.55 (normal) DHEA Sample 3 0.29 (low) DHEA:Cortisol Ratio 2.68 (normal) (2.0-6.0) DHEA Mean 0.42 (0.40-1.47) Any help would be gratefully appreciated Many thanks From
Guest guest
Hello Marie - yes, most definitely you are suffering with low adrenal reserve and this will stop your thyroid hormone from being efficiently utilised at the cellular level until your adrenals are boosted into working efficiently again. You need to order Nutri Adrenal Extra which is available from Nutri Ltd. and TPA members can get a 33% discount on these. Go to the FILES section accessible from the Menu of the Home Page of this forum thyroid treatment and on the Page that opens, after clicking on FILES - scroll down to the folder entitled 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' and open the 'Nutri Ltd' document. Follow the instructions for ordering these tablets on there, remembering to quote the TPA Reference Number. When they arrive, you start by stopping your thyroid hormone replacement and the following day start taking 1 Nutri Adrenal Extra (NAE) with your breakfast. Continue doing this for 7 days. On the 8th day, introduce back your thyroid hormone replacement in the same dose you were taking before, and add another NAE with your lunch. Never take NAE after 1.00p.m. because you might find it difficult to get to sleep at night. Stay on this dose for around 10 days and then add another NAE with your breakfast and see how you feel. If still 'not quite there', add yet another NAE with your lunch and continue, if necessary increasing this way. However, if you get up to 6 tablets daily, and you still have symptoms of low adrenal reserve, this may be an indication you need a short course of hydrocortisone. Take with the NAE high doses of vitamin C (i.e. 4/5000mgs daily). Are you also taking 200mcgs selenium daily and 15mgs zinc (both needed to help convert the mainly inactive thyroxine into the active thyroid hormone T3?
