Guest guest
well, the possible bad news regarding Aranesp is not settling well with me. Terry has been on it since early November....then when he had his knee replaced at Christmas, his red cells took a nosedive & the level is holding around 3.6 instead of around 12. While being on Dasatnib, the PA stated that many CML patients tend to have lower red cell counts.......with Terry's surgery adding stress to his system, well, Aranesp shots continuing seemed logical. However, my argument is that he may be holding his counts...he is not improving, nor is his health improving. The suggestion from the PA was to maybe try Procrit, and possibly switch back & forth between the 2 drugs to see how his body reacts. I have decided to insist on using Procrit on the 12th when he goes in for his next shot. The bad news on that is the cancer center doesn't give it....so either he will have to go to the hospital...or we will have to travel to Dallas to get help. That then means trying to apply for more aid, etc since the Dallas hospital UTSW where Dr. is doesn't offer any aid at all. Dr. does waive the office visit co-pay, but the hospital can't help us since we are Denton county residents. what a mess Lora

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone.
