Hi D - you can buy all manner of different iron supplements to

help boost your ferritin level from either Internet Pharmacies or your local

health food store. You should also eat iron rich foods. There is no need to

rely on NHS or private prescriptions for this.

I didn't know the results were from tests taken in January after

only 3 weeks on 5mcg and 4 weeks on 10mcg T3. The lowness of the dose could

well account for the low results. Any chance you can get all these tested now

to give us a hint of just what might be happening? and no, you are not necessarily

condemned to lose all your better health again.

Luv - Sheila

Ferritin was 40 in November, up from 16 in

June. I am unable to get the iron therapy I need on the NHS or privately. Not

due to see the endo again until May, but the appointment has not come through

yet.

" It looks like you may be getting symptoms of toxicity with the thyroid

hormone floating around in your blood and it not getting properly absorbed.

Your TSH is too high (it should be around 1.0), your free T4 is only 1 point

above the very bottom of the reference range, and your free T3 should be well

into the upper third of the reference range but is only 2 points from the

bottom of the range. "

These results were taken in January after three weeks on 5 mcg T3 and 4 weeks

on 10 mcg. TSH was down from previous test, T4 suppressed as I would expect on

T3 only and T3 low, possibly because I believed I should not take any for 24

hours before the test, to show the true level, which is about where it's always

been. Any further comment?

I have been so much better. I have hair and eyebrows and a social life again,

all in 3 months. Am I condemned to lose it all again?

D
