Guest guest
I have spent rather longer time than I had intended trying to find in the files what the results of the cortisol (SST) should be. I cannot find it. Does anyone know exactly where it is please. I even googled it but I do not seem to get what I am looking for there. My first blood taken at around 8.30am was 602, half an hour later it was 722 and then 770 but they have not given any reference ranges. My Androstenedione (whatever that is) is 7.6 (3.0 - 8.0) so near the top - is that good or bad? FSH 32.8 (3 - 8) High LH 14.9 (2 - 7 ) High What do these two things mean and they are quite high. Is that good or bad, considering and I way past menopause. I think it is progesterone it says 17hydroxyprogest that is 2.5 with no references given and testosterone is 2.4 (0.3 - 3.8) Interpretations would be helpful please. Guest guest
Reference ranges usually depend on individual labs because they each carry their own testing 'kits' Lilian. The reference range would depends upon which 'kit' they are using. Telephone your local laboratory and ask for the reference ranges for each of these tests - they cannot withhold these from you. Nobody can interpret test results without reference ranges. Guest guest
Hi again, Lilian, I was just reading this again, and I think your interpretation would fall in the following category: My first blood taken at around 8.30am was 602, half an hour later it was 722 and then 770 but they have not given any reference ranges. Normal response if test done at 0900h (considerable diurnal variation): Incremental rise of at least 170 nmol/l Your incremental rise within the hour was 2 points short of 170 – not a great result, and still falling short of the minimum requirement, but probably will be interpreted as "normal" – JUST ! - want a bet ? Best wishes, xx
