Guest guest
Hi Dee, I have lsaid that I would like to take my T3 an hour before I wake up! You seem to be heading in the right direction, but it does take time for you body to get used to and utilise the T3 that is now available to it. Your TSH is dropping which is some indicator that you are getting somewhere- though a FT3 reading would be more useful! Did you start on T4? if so then T4 won't do any good now either and the conversion mechanism or block doesn't seem to heal- thoug Dr. wilson seems to think it does. Have you tried taking more of the T3 in the first thing in the morning dose? I know split and spread doses are less stress on the adrenals, but I found that taking one big dose ( I take 80mcg T3+ Armour)first thing in the morning- I moved gradually to that point- kept me more alert and allowed me to sleep normally rather than an increased split dose which made me feel hyper ( doesn't sound rational does it?) You are still quite new to T3 so I think a lot of healing that you may be unaware of is going on and taking T4 may be a backward step, as if you produce RT3 from the T4 then you would be blocking your open receptors, which is bad news indeed. > thyroid treatment > From: deetwigg@...> Date: Wed, 5 Jan 2011 11:21:12 +0000> Subject: terrible problem with sleep t3? help please> > Hi> I started taking t3 only and have been doing steady increases and am up to 90mg split into 3 doses.> I take a dose on waking, another 4/5 hours and again 4/5 hours later.> As the children have been off school and sleeping in i have been taking the doses later so my last dose has been taken in the evening ive even taken it just before bed but have found i cannot sleep, i am so tired and all day keep falling asleep,i fall asleep in the bath every night where i am so tired.> When i get to bed i fall asleep quite easily but wake every 15/30 minutes having vivid dreams, needing the loo its driving me insane.> After years of being anaemic i now have my ferratin levels at normal.> My tsh was 38 for 6 months, on my last test 3 weeks ago it was 28 so slowly getting there.> Do you think i should add some t4? do i keep increasing? how will i know when to stop increasing? Guest guest
Have you experimented and tried to take 45mgs when you wake and another 45mgs around 3.00p.m. You might be helped by taking 3mgs Melatonin which you can buy here in the UK from Biovea http://www.biovea.net/(S(42orvm55mwaf4u2ni3liadal))/category_dispatch.aspx?CID=7 .. What was your last free T4 and free T3 result? Luv - Sheila I started taking t3 only and have been doing steady increases and am up to 90mg split into 3 doses. I take a dose on waking, another 4/5 hours and again 4/5 hours later. As the children have been off school and sleeping in i have been taking the doses later so my last dose has been taken in the evening ive even taken it just before bed but have found i cannot sleep, i am so tired and all day keep falling asleep,i fall asleep in the bath every night where i am so tired. When i get to bed i fall asleep quite easily but wake every 15/30 minutes having vivid dreams, needing the loo its driving me insane. After years of being anaemic i now have my ferratin levels at normal. My tsh was 38 for 6 months, on my last test 3 weeks ago it was 28 so slowly getting there. Do you think i should add some t4? do i keep increasing? how will i know when to stop increasing? How on earth can i get some sleep without sleeping pills i have just bought some nytol
