Guest guest
Get these levels tested Beki and then post the results here together with the reference range for each of the tests done and then we can tell you what the optimal levels should be. Each laboratory have different testing 'kits' and therefore each can have a different reference range, so we can't answer your question up front. Luv - Sheila You mention to fully absorb/process thyroid properly we need optimal levels of B12, ferritin, D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc. Please can you tell us if you know the optimal levels we need to aim for for each of these? Thank you. Beki
Guest guest
Ok, thanks Shiela. I have my original results of FERRITIN, B12, FOLATE and picked up my most recent ones yesterday (see results below). Please can you tell me do you know if I can push my GP to test for MAGNESIUM, COPPER & ZINC?? Oh and also T3 - while Im asking?? I asked him yesterday about COPPER (and I tried again about the other thyroid antibodies test (not TPO)) and he brushed me off saying there is nowhere on the blood test form for him to write copper!!?? If not where is advised to get Vitamin test done? Thanks for your help Beki x NHS BLOOD TESTS - NOV 2010 FERRITIN - NOV 2010 - 20; FEB 2011 - 39 (range 12-150)- been taking Floradix + Vitamin C last two months VITAMIN B12 - NOV 2010 - 545; FEB 2011 - 556 (range 180-914) - been taking B12 oral spray last two months FOLATE - NOV 2010 - 10; FEB 2011 - 7 (range 3-20) - not supplementing NB - I have just over the range Haemoglobin mean cell concentration. My GP didnt tell me, I got ranges printed and found out myself when I got home - he didnt tell me, maybe because it isnt anything serious but maybe interesting for thryoid patients to keep an eye on. As i researched when I got home and it could be being caused by MACROCYTIC ANAEMIA - basically caused by B12/or Folate deficiency - interesting hey!! > Get these levels tested Beki and then post the results here together with > the reference range for each of the tests done and then we can tell you what > the optimal levels should be.
