Hi , Yes, but........... It can be complicated can't it. Depends on what tests you have done, and how you have reacted to meds so far.How you do on the questionnaires etc Yes, thyroid and adrenals are the biggies, but you know that the vits and minerals can be important too. Do one thing at a time, and keep a careful diary of meds and how you feel- then you can pick up changes , otherwise you can get comfused, especially if you are brain fogged as so many of us are. > thyroid treatment > From: tanyaking32@...> Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2011 11:13:03 +0000> Subject: what road to go down?> > Does anyone get confused about what to try to help your condition?> diet, different hormones, intolerances, etc etc?> its such a mine field and every one has an opinion.> > do you think its sensible to concentrate on thyroid and adrenal first ? then what?> .x> > > > ------------------------------------> > TPA is not medically qualified. I think it's fine to concentrate on adrenals and thyroid - in

that order - and then look into other associated conditions if needed. Don't

take on too much at one time otherwise you will only cause yourself to become

confused. If adrenals are wonky so thyroid not working, you need to do the 24

hour salivary adrenal profile to see where your cortisol and DHEA levels lie at

4 specific times during the day. We can then see how bad (or good) they are. If

they need support, we put that in place after stopping thyroid hormone for

about a week, and then start the thyroid hormone again along with a

continuation of the adrenal supplements. After titrating the dose until you get

things working smoothly, often this is sufficient, but if not, there are other

conditions to look at to find out why not.

Does anyone get confused about what to try to

help your condition?

diet,different hormones,intolerances,etc etc?

its such a mine field and every one has an opinion.

do you think its sensible to concentrate on thyroid and adrenal first ? then

what?

.x
