Guest guest
Hi Stuart Your adrenal stress profile does show low adrenal reserve, and yes, this could be the cause of your problem. You need to get some Nutri Adrenal Extra and start taking these as soon as possible. you should also be taking high doses of vitamin C e.g. 4/5000mgs daily, Siberian Ginseng and liquorice tincture. Nutri Adrenal Extra you can buy with a 33% discount as a TPA member. See our FILES section and scroll down to 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' - open the Nutri Ltd Folder and follow the instructions, quoting the reference number there when you place your order. I would ask your GP to test your ferritin, vitamin B12m vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc to see where they lie in the reference range. If any of these are low, this could be the reason why your thyroid hormone is not doing the job it is supposed to. By your thyroid results, your fT4 is too high which shows it is probably not converting to the active thyroid hormone T3. It is T3 your body needs, not T4. T4 is a mainly inactive hormone. If any of your vitamins/minerals mentioned above need supplementing this would stop the thyroid hormone being properly utilised at cellular level. It is very important you get these tested. When your NAE arrive, start by taking 1 tablet with breakfast, and after 7 days, add another tablet with your lunch, but don't take any after 1.00p.m. After another 7 to 10 days, you can add another tablet with your breakfast and if necessary keep increasing in this way until you find your symptoms subsiding. Some people need to take up to 6 tablets daily, but this is usually an indication they need to start a short course of HC as the NAE is not sufficient to boost your adrenals. Have a look at the symptoms and signs of hypothyroidism and check yours against those in our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk and click on Hypothyroidism, and then on 'Symptoms and Signs'. See attached document to show the connection between low vitamins and minerals and symptoms of hypothyroidism if your GP refuses to believe there is any connection. He is there to HELP you, not to hinder you and cause you worsening health problems by refusing to do the tests required. You may well find that once your adrenals are boosted, the thyroxine might start to work better, but it is more likely you are going to need some form of T3 adding to your T4, either natural or in natural thyroid extract, T3 along or natural thyroid extract alone. Remind your doctor if necessary that he should be treating your symptoms and signs, and not bits of paper. Speak to your GP about this and ask for a trial, and if he is reluctant, ask to be referred to a doctor on my list of doctors recommended by members of this forum. Luv - Sheila Could adrenal stress cause the following symptoms Ringing in ears Poor eyesight seems to get worse as day progresses Dizziness but not necessarily when standing Slightly sensitive to light and sound Still have plenty energy Blood pressure does not drop when standing up but is low. I'm not taking any supplements and could not convince my GP to do any vitamins testing Where do I go from here Many thank Stuart 2 of 2 File(s) ferritin.doc MINERALS AND VIT. You need to get some Nutri Adrenal Extra Hi Sheila Sorry for not getting back to you but I know how busy you must be and didn't want to bother you, many thanks for the great help you've given me and many others so far. I'm afraid I'm looking for a bit more advice if it's not too much trouble. I purchased some Nutri Adrenal Extra. I was a little nervous about taking a whole tablet as I am fairly small built at 5ft 7 " and 8.5 stones in weight so I chopped one tablet in half and took it with my breakfast, but by lunch time I was concerned because I was experiencing dizziness, dry skin, felt very cold, had to keep clearing my throat. Taking the half tablet seemed to make my T4 toxic symptoms worse i,e dizziness and having to clear my throat, however it did seem to improve my blurred vision. As I have an unusually busy week ahead at work I decided to stop taking the Nutri Adrenal extra after my 1st dosage as I can't afford to feel more unwell this week. Just wonder what your thoughts are :- Could it be that I'm still truly taking too much thyroxine and it is only once I get my optimal level that I need to start introducing Nutri adrenal extra. Would very much welcome your thoughts ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I think I'm still on the verge of going t4 toxic. Since July last year my dosage has been getting reduced from 100mcg to the now 62.5. This has been improving my symptoms of blurred vision, dizziness, clearing my throat although it did bring on hypo symptoms that after a while have leveled out and to my amazement almost stopped even on such a small dosage. Any hypo symptoms I have are now fairly mild e.g. mild occasional IBS a little cold, little dry skin, my biggest problem is dizziness load buzzing in ears and blurred vision. It also feels like I have a constant head cold. These symptoms seem to improved each time I reduced my thyroxine. If I keep going like this I'm going to end up on no thyroxine! My last lab result showed a very suppressed TSH and High T4 even on 75mcg I know 62.5mcg is a rather small amount of thyroxine but for that last several months I seem to be very sensitive to how much thyroxine I take. I would Imagine my TSH will still be very suppressed and T4 high even on 62.5mcg I'm going to arrange a blood test since it's been more than 7 weeks since I reduced my thyroxine to 62.5mcg. I'm also going to see my GP just to see where my levels are and again I will push to get the vitamin levels checked as you recommended. Again sorry to bother you and I won't bather answering unless I have something I need help with as I know you must be very busy Best wishes Stuart

When starting to take Nutri Adrenal Extra, you should stop any thyroid hormone replacement you have been taking for at least a week, before starting back on it on Day 8 of taking NAE. However, you should have not have experienced the symptoms you describe in such a few hours. Remind me again about how much levothyroxine you are taking and how long you have been taking it. Yes, indeed, if you are taking too high a dose of thyroxine, the NAE could well cause a 'thyroid dump' which would give you symptoms of thyroid toxicity. It may be that you are not in need of ANY thyroid hormone replacement - that the problem could be low adrenal reserve and once your adrenals have been properly treated, you will start to get back your normal health again. This has been found to be the case in a lot of people who believe they have symptoms of hypothyroidism, when their symptoms are actually low adrenal reserve. You might feel better stopping the thyroxine for a while and just treating your adrenals, but unfortunately, your GP will not agree with this because they only recognise 's disease or Cushing's Syndrome (the two extremes of adrenal problems) and do not recognise adrenal fatigue. Would low adrenal reserve produce the same thyroid lab results causing the GP to think I had hypothyroidism? I thought that adrenal stress suppressed TSH not increased it which was how I was originally diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Would it be safe for me to stop my thyroxine for 7 days when I'm on such a low dosage of thyroxine Best wishes and thanks once again.
