Guest guest
Hi Gillian T3 are licenced and he's either ignorant or lying to you because of he's out of his depth and doesn't understand the thyroid. Where do you live and how much T3 are you on? GP's and Endo's are scared to prescribe T3 at high doses. Maybe someone on here lives near you and has a good GP who could refer you to an Endo who may prescribe T3 only. This is rare but worth a try. Also, Sheila has a list of Endo's of which some prescribe T3. Alternatively, if you want to stick with your GP, he has to refer you to an Endo. Quoting Sheila: Tell your GP that he CAN prescribe T3 - the Royal College of Physicians and the British thyroid Association 'guidance' is nothing other than a 'guidance' and it is not laid down in stone. The DoH have stated categorically that doctors can choose whatever guidelines they wish to follow, even if they come from another country, so long as they can give good reason why they decided to follow those and not those in the UK. Tell him that the statements in the UK guidance have not been backed with any of the available scientific evidence that shows they are wrong in many instances. thyroid treatment/files/THYROID%20GUID\ ELINES/ Challenge him! Love Jacquie PS: If you want to find your posts, there is a search function in the pale blue area at top of page. Type in your name or surname and you shoudl find your emails. I would like some advice please , i have been taking T3 only for 20 months under the care of DR.P , all is working fine with Thyroid but my GP flatly refuses to prescribe them , he tells me they are not licenced ? I know they are .. I have to pay for these ouyt of basic sick benefits of £57 , can i find away around this ? The reason o found out what had stopped the thyroid tollerating T4 was pesticide exposure when out walking !!! Gill >

Guest guest
Everybody posts using different subject headings Gillian. You will soon learn to stick to the same heading if you are sending various messages about the same thing, otherwise, as you are finding out, they can be lost in the hundreds we get. If responding to a particular message, click 'Reply' on that message and your response will go to whatever thread that person posted and so all those messages will be kept together. I see others have told you how to look for messages posted by yourself, or even other people, by going to the Forum web site http://health./grouop/thyroid treatment and then click on MESSAGES in the Menu, and then type either your name or email address in the little search engine at the top of that page and all the messages you have posted will be shown. On the Page that opens, underneath your message, you will also see a list of any responses from other members that have come in - and all you need to do is to click on those messages to read them all. Guest guest
Hi Gillian, I am pelased you are " getting the jist how this forum works, long may it continue, but will you please delete most of the previous messages already read and leave just a small portion of what you are responding to. This is because those who have opted to receive 'Special notices' only and who read messages from the forum web site, and for those who opted to receive a Daily Digest (where they get up to 25 messages in just one email) get extremely frustrated having to scroll through messages already read before they can get to the next message. Luv - Sheila Hi , Just getting the jist how this forum works ,Thank you so much for all the advice will take on board , I really am with a prat of a GP
