Guest guest
Wynn, Did you resolve the problem with anemia? Low Iron, folate or B12 can all make a big difference to whether ou absorb or convert thyroid meds..... As I recall you had low iron but were unable to take supplements? How are your progesterone and estrogen levels balanced? too much estrogen can affect thyroid hormone transpotation..... x > > For many years I have been taking Thyroxine, and Liothyrone for the last three years. My reslts have a;ways been in the middle of the range and ny TSH between ..5 and 2. > > I am taking 125mcg of Thyroxine and 30mcg of T3. > 2 weeks ago I sent for a test with Genova and my results are as follows: > > Total T4 78.9 (58 - 154) > > TSH 0.009 (0.4 - 4.0) low (is it too low?) > > Free T4 10.8 ((10 - 22) low > > Free T3 3.89 (2.8 - 6.5) > > A short while ago my endo arranged a 9am blood test re. my adrenals. > The result was (it seemed to me)to be a large amount over the top of the range ( I've forgotten what it was. Guest guest
If it helps, this is Wyn's old post from the archive: == thyroid treatment/message/73751 Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:34 am On 1st of this month I went to see my endo. I asked if she would test my adrenals and she agreed to do a cortisol test. (I find it virtually impossible to do the saliva test due to the fact I have a really dry mouth) After an argument with her secretary I was finally sent my results. My cortisol level at 8.50am was 747. Ref.range for 9am is (171 - 536) What does this mean? My FT4 is 15 (range 12 - 22) FT3 is 5.2 (range 4.0 - 6.8) My doctor's appt.is not till 23rd of this month and she will probaly say everything is normal. Can anyone help? == > > A short while ago my endo arranged a 9am blood test re. my adrenals. > The result was (it seemed to me)to be a large amount over the top of the range ( I've forgotten what it was. Guest guest
Did your endo do a 24 hr urine free cortisol test? i think she should have if the cortisol levels were high in the morning. can you request one? chris
Guest guest
Thank you for bringing up my previous post. What a terrific system you have! I can't even recall what I had for dinner....or even if I had one. I didn't ask any further about it but I will now. As you suggested I will ask for a 24hr urine free cortisol test. My last doctor told me she wouldn't touch T3 with a bargepole so I was always reticent about asking anything re Thyroid. When I was in hospital 3 years ago all the doctors told me T3 was toxic. We definitely need doctors like the one I met yesterday. Regards Wyn
