Guest guest
I've been following Dr. P's advice since Jan 2011 and am on week 3 of his protocol of taking 4 NAX, 3 1g VitC, 1 CoQ10, 1 TC, 1 NT. He said I don't need to see him again and only need to send a diary and letter after 6 weeks of treatment and then he will send the second part of the treatment plan to me. I've felt a little better but there is hardly any difference in my quality of sleep which is my MAJOR problem. I dream a lot and need to get up ATLEAST once to go to the bathroom and always get up 4-5 hours after sleeping even if I don't need to go to the bathroom. Even if I stay in bed for 12 hours it feels I've only slept 6 or 7 hours and feel tired throughout the day. I can't even handle stress as it makes my sleep even worse. Only thing that improves the quality of sleep is if I have sex before sleeping. Next day morning body temp can be as high as 36.7 C and even rise to 37.0 C at bedtime. Dr P was sceptical at first that I had adrenal problems (he said it is probably Hashimotos) as my Genova adrenal saliva test was as follows and he said it wasn't too bad: 10AM - 7.1 (12-22) 2PM - 8.7 (5-9) 7PM - 4.1 (3-7) 11PM - 2.1 (1-3) Total Daily Cortisol: 22 (21-41) He then did the postural hypotension test and my systolic dropped by 20mmHg and that was when he was sure that my adrenals are not working properly. Thyroid test results were as follows: TT4 83.4 (58-154) TSH 2.00 (0.4-4.0) FT4 13.8 (10-22) FT3 5.85 (2.8-6.5) FT4:FT3 Ratio 2.4 Low (2.0-4.5) TG <20 TPO <20 Basal temperatures before taking supplements in Jan 2011: Day 1: Bedtime 36.3 C Awake 35.6 C Day 2: Bedtime 36.6 C Awake 35.9 C Day 3: Bedtime 36.3 C Awake 36.2 C Day 4: Bedtime 37.0 C Awake 36.0 C Day 5: Bedtime 36.7 C Awake 35.8 C Temps from the last 5 days: Day 1: Bedtime 36.0 C Awake 36.5 C Day 2: Bedtime 36.2 C Awake 36.6 C Day 3: Bedtime 35.6 C Awake 36.3 C Day 4: Bedtime 36.3 C Awake 36.2 C Day 5: Bedtime 36.0 C Awake 36.0 C Average BP: 130/80 Average pulse: 74BPM My body temp goes under 36.0 C especially when I haven't had a good nights sleep. I've tried 3mg time release Melatonin by Swanton but it doesn't help. I've also tried GABA and that did calm me a bit but sleep problems remained. Can anyone recommend anything natural (not benzos etc) that will improve the quality of my sleep and keep me asleep? I feel like I'm going mad with the constant lack of sleep every day of every week, every month for nearly 3 years now Thanks for reading!
