Taking sugar was only recommended for those taking the new

formulae of the Brand Armour Thyroid - not Erfa 'Thyroid'. About two years ago,

Forest changed the formulae for Armour, removing some of the dextrose and

adding more cellulose which meant you could no longer take it sublingually, and

that for an awful lot of users, it no longer worked for them and they started

getting back many symptoms of hypothyroidism. These are mainly the folk who

swapped their natural thyroid from Armour to Erfa. Others have found that

chomping up the Armour in your mouth before swallowing it help, and others

found taking some form of citric acid with the Armour helped. There is no need

to add anything to your Erfa 'Thyroid'

Doubt the Erfa is the cause of your itching, especially as you

have had it before taking NDT - could be coincidence.

I got my order from Value Pharm. I opened the

package and since I was due for my dose I took a half tablet (I got the

125mg)..I took some this morning and this afternoon.. and I am itchy....

I thought I was itchy yesterday but today it is noticeable.

Now I have been prone to itchy outbursts before taking NDT....so it could be

coincidence...I sure hope so....has this happened to anyone else?

And a question just out of curiosity....why does taking sugar help with the

NDT...I have seen it suggested on STTM for making Armour work better...and the

Erfa has sugar in it as well??..

Should I have not swapped straight away? I was taking Armour..

Cheers
