Guest guest
My sincere apologies if you've all already seen this as I've not followed digests that closely lately due to work commitments. This is the BBC's coverage and IMO bears out my theory that all the so called expert's dietary advice to cut down on red meat, dairy products and SALT has resulted in oh guess what - iodine deficiency!! Mind you the experts would have us believe its just because school milk has been abolished!!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/mobile/health-13034582 Check out the 'official' comment at the end of the article - what a sham!! Guest guest
There is not enough iodine in a multi vitamin to help much. As far as the red meat and dairy products, they aren't full of iodine anyway. As far as the salt, there are two kinds of salt, refined and unrefined. No one should be taking refined salt in their diets unless they are on a suicide mission. As far as the *unrefined sea salt*, this does not contain enough iodine to help either. You must supplement with Iodoral tablets or Lugol's drops to get enough into your system which will actually help. We can no longer depend on the food we eat to have the nutrients in it to support our systems. We must supplement iodine to be at optimal health. From what I've noticed, the UK doesn't really seem to grasp the idea of Iodine, although people have been supplementing with it since Lugol invented the drops. It was the cure for pretty much everything. And with the UK having the highest rate of Goiter in the civilized population, I'm at odds why it isn't used. It certainly makes you wonder.
