Guest guest
Hi all, I stopped my thyroxine about 5 days ago so that I could start NAE. I was really worried about stopping the thyroxine because I thought I would feel really ill, but actually, I have seen a big improvement in my symptoms - especially with swollen feet and ankles, and pressure in neck area. Also I feel a bit more cheerful. I feel like the thyroxine must have been making things worse! I now don't want to start back on thyroxine, but rather to try to boost my adrenals further before going onto Erfa if I need to. My adrenal saliva test results were really, really low, and I hope to persuade my GP to send me for a short synacthen test, and then decide whether to go back onto some kind of thyroid replacement. But is it foolish to stop thyroid replacement altogether? I've been taking 125mg thyroxine a day for the last few years. I just feel so much better without it!
