Well as you said he doesnt plan on retiring, on my last apointment with him i

was actually speaking with him about becoming an endo what was his view of this

and what is the best way to go about it.

He said to me to do a natural medicine course and then go onto your own clinic

as you can help people 10x more this way than being an " endo " he really opened

my eyes to this and its something im really thinking about... anyway what im

saying is he said to me he plans to pass his information down to people who want

to help like he has and in his own words he said " im going to need someone or

some people to carry this one for me "

to do when he retires! I know he's said he has no plans to retire just yet but

I'm finding I rely on him heavily for reassurance and guidance and I trust him

more than any Dr I've ever seen and I'm just really frightened about what I'll

do when he stops working!

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. It's calmed me down. I just never want him to retire

though! :)

Unfortunately, Dr Skinner does not treat adrenals any more - and

if this is missed, it can be devastating for the patient. If you do go to see

Dr Skinner, then I would get my adrenals tested using the 24 hour salivary

adrenal profile provided by Genova Diagnostics and if there is a problem, treat

these myself and see him for your thyroid problem.

hi there, may I suggest Dr, Skinner! it all depends where

you live as travelling can be tiring at the best of times. i travelled to see

Dr P for a number of years and also to see Dr S and then a Dr O. but now

I treat my self. not to daunting as you should be able to do this if stable on

present dose of meds and if not we can help and support you. YOU ARE NOT

ALONE. Angel.

I know what you mean Josie and have similar freaking out sessions myself ; )

I think it depends on your particular thyroid problem - Dr P told me that Dr S

would not have given me T3 which is what I actually needed, as well as adrenal

support which he also apparently doesn't treat - so if you needed those Dr P

would be your man.

Is there noone else who treats adrenals and T3 problems as Dr P does - I'm sure

it is a worry to others as well. I know there was talk of him training others

and writing a self help guidebook - both of which would be wonderful I'm sure,

but to think that there is just one person helping us with these issues is

worrying ; ( I only wish cloning was more advanced!

Seems my msg yday didn't get posted, I'm not a doctor but was thinking of going

to med school. But after speaking with dr p he advised to do a natural medicine

course at uni and then look at the option of your own clinic and consultants as

he said you can help people 10x more this way.

Sorry but not only did Dr P say it but Dr S himself would not give me T3 which

is the reason I am actually now seeing Dr P in the first place.

I am actually growing quite tired of people telling me I have got things wrong

when I have been sent from pillar to post and from doctor to doctor because they

will not treat adrenals or give me the T3 I need because I cannot take T4 and do

not wish others to suffer similar by being advised to go to doctors that will

not help them with these issues. I was there and I know what both of these

doctors said. If Dr S had been prepared to give me T3 which he was not, then I

would not be having to see Dr P and buy it myself.

Maybe Dr S prescribed T3 in the past, just like he apparently treated adrenals,

but he would not treat me for either. This was not because I did not need

either because I did and am now seeing Dr P for both.

I presumed his decision not to treat either was because of the issues he has

faced in the past, if he was refusing me whilst treating others with T3 then I

would be interested to hear about that.

Thanks to everyone who emailed me earlier - I've got a massive ear infection at

the moment tho and haven't been able to get online much so I'm gonna apologise

now as I may take a while to get back to you - but just wanted to say thanks -

much appreciated and glad (well not glad but you know what I mean) that it's not

just me!
