Guest guest
Hi ..thanks for your replyFERRITIN 33 Range 20-288 Think I just found a major reason why I couldn't raise NDTYep- I agree, this could be the major reason for you not tolerating NDT..Any chance of getting injections? – else you need to find some other way to get some iron into your system.I believe iron injections/infusions carry a risk of anaphylactic reaction so for now I'll take oral iron & monitor my levels.B12 565 Range 150-650 Could be higher? The norm range looks odd – usually the upper limit is around 900..But I would continue with taking B12.It can't do any harm.B12 Range 150-650 Free T4 Range 7.8-14.4 Serum Testosterone Range 12-27....I agree I've never seen any of these tests use these ranges before, very odd. TSH 1.21 Range 0.3-5.6Free T4 8.4 Range 7.8-14.4As the TFT was performed one month after stopping NDT I don't know how accurate the results are..I'm guessing TSH is probably still suppressed below my normal baseline level..T4 from NDT is probably exhausted by now but with TSH possibly still suppressed is the T4 result skewed? your FT4 shows that you could do with some thyroid hormone soon.I agree,I feel like I'm running on empty at the moment.WBC 5.9 Range 4.0-11.0 your immunity is not brilliantBizarrely even though my White Blood Cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils & basophils all show low in range I never get sick..other than having all the usual ME/CFS symptoms I never get colds, flu, coughs etc..the low counts should mean the opposite ie frequent infections.I'm starting to feel that I need back on NDT, should I work on raising ferritin levels for a few weeks before restarting NDT or is it ok to raise Iron & NDT together?I think you can do it together s-l-o-w-l-y, but I'm not sure –Sheila ?I know it's a catch 22 situation, low ferritin leads to Hypo,Hypo leads to low ferritin..so is it better to raise both at the same time or raise ferritin first? You haven't said how you are feeling now without any thyroid meds. I would imagine that the symptoms described above were a result of too much thyroid hormone on top of (still too) weak adrenals. Perhaps you would benefit from some NAX or NA in addition to the HC to give the adrenals more of a helping hand ? -might be worth a try. At the moment I feel as though I'm running on empty both physically & mentally..fatigue,brain fog, muscle aches, the usual gamut of hypo symptoms....I checked out the contents of NAX..all vits/mins in NAX I already take separately in amounts that my body can tolerate,I also use pantethine 450mg daily. You still have a little scope on the HC front to up to 30 mg, but personally I would rather add in a little NAX or NA to see if this helps. You are doing all the right things, Andy. I think your low adrenal function and low ferritin are the two major factors, but your low-ish Testosterone could well play a role too.I really don't want to raise HC any higher..chasing stable temps whilst raising NDT & thinking hyper symptoms where caused by low cortisol I raised HC slowly to 37.5mg,hyper symptoms didn't improve & temps didn't stabilize..At 37.5mg I encountered more problems,HC started causing bad stomach cramps & diaorhea..in retrospect I believe HC caused gut dysbiosis..I slowly lowered HC to my present dose 27.5mg & treated with colloidal silver, oil of oregano & grapefruit seed extract,I also increased intake of kefir & kombucha..even though my digestion is now stable I don't want to raise HC any higher than 27.5mg & looking at my HC expanded waistline I'd rather not be on it at all.As a higher dose of HC didn't ameliorate NDT intolerance issues am I right in thinking it more likely that low ferritin is the main problem?Thank you very much for your time & your encouragement..All the best..~Andy~
Guest guest
a couple of things caught my attention >Bizarrely even though my White Blood cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils & basophils all show low in range I never get sick..other than having all the usual ME/CFS symptoms I never get colds, flu, coughs etc..the low counts should mean the opposite ie frequent infections. i think this is to do with low iron ...apparently bugs need a good amount of iron to flourish. >I also use pantethine 450mg daily maybe you could try upping this dose ...i believe pantethine is the more active form of pantothenic acid but the adrenals really need it. i recently read somewhere that vit b5 should be given in 500 to 1000mg increments with each dose of t3 ....i did a little experiment on myself yesterday because whenever i've tried t3 even at 5mcg i have immediately felt a bit odd ...yesterday i took 5mcg of t3 with 500mg pantothenic acid and didn't feel odd at all!!! and ditto today. i also take a dose of pantothenic acid at night and think it helps with sleep quality. trish > > Hi ..thanks for your reply > > FERRITIN 33 Range 20-288 Think I just found a major reason why I > couldn't raise NDT >
