Guest guest
It is helpful if you also post the range (what's in paranthesis on your labs) since each lab has different ranges due to the testing. Your TSH still sounds high to me, but I'm new at this. No wonder you're having symptoms. I believe the goal is to get TSH as close to 0 (zero) as possible. You do have the option of going to a lab on your own and getting test done rather than wait until May... the regulars on here know the best labs (healthcheckusa.com, quest labs) and which tests you need. Hang in there! LH* On Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 7:17 AM, lesking71 <lesking71@...> wrote: Hi For some reason or another didnt get my results until yesterday. Guest guest
Hi Emma, 500mg of thyroxine is an incredibly high dose- the usual full replacment dose is around 150mcg. Are you sure you have your TSH and FT4 results the right way around? TSH is usually 0.5 to 5.5 with the average for healthy folk being 1.0 and FT4 is 11-24 optimum being nearer the top of the range. As always it is a great pity that doc did not do FT3 which is the active thyroid hormone. T4 is a storage hormone and has little effect until it converts the T3 which some of us can no longer do. Guest guest
We need the reference range for your TSH and free T4 - that result looks very strange, especially as you are on such a huge dose of levothyroxine. Send the reference range and we will see what this means Emma. Luv - Sheila Hi For some reason or another didnt get my results until yesterday. I am currently on 500mcg of thyroxine.
