I see there is a mistake in it - it says "this is an option" but I think it should sayd "this is NOT an option" regarding the supplements to take with it.

Sheila, this link is based on Lugol's drops at 5% solution.

This is a good link to read:

http://www.iodine-resource.com/lugols-iodine.html

The confusing part is that lugol's comes in so many different percentages 2%,

3%, 5%, 7%, 15%.......

The basic amount for theraputic purposes is 12.5 mgs a day.

To cure cancer or use as a preventative measure from getting cancer, you'd want

50 mg as the daily amount.

Calculating Number of MG's of Iodine per Drop of Lugol's Solution: LUGOL'S 5%:

Each VERTICAL drop is about 6.25 mg of iodine. (The correct way to make a drop

is to hold the dropper vertical ) HORIZONTAL drops - when the dropper is held

side to side there is twice as much iodine per drop. Approximately 12.5 mg

Cheers, JOT

I was told the usual way to start out the protocol was to start taking 12.5mg the first week, an additional 12.5mg the second and so on until I'm up to 50mg. Do you need to go a take a week to ramp up to 50 mg or can you just go every three days to get there?

But you need to add the bromide test which is another $30 so it is a total of $105. The person asking about the test was in Canada though so they will not have the same benefit of getting the test as we do in the US.

I started at 50 mgs. No "ramping up". I jumped to 75 mgs when I felt I needed more and then to 100 mgs and finally ended up at 125 mgs for over year. As we keep saying - there is no protocol - there are no normal's - there are no rules. Anyone that tells you this doesn't know what they are talking about. Cancer patients can take dosages of 200-300 mgs / day. It all depends on what you are trying to do and what you are fighting to recover from.

Hi

Some people start with 12. 5 mg of Lugol's/Iodoral or less and work their way up. Some people start out at 50 mg or more. People with serious degenerative diseases, like cancer, most often start at larger doses. It just depends on the person. I first started Lugol's while doing the Gerson Therapy and they had me take 18 drops of 2% spread out throughout the day in my carrot/apple juices, for a total of about 45 mg. There is really no set rule. Very important, of course is to make sure one is taking the companion nutrients. Kind regards, Kathleen
