Thyroid Patient Advocacy Summer Conference – Yorkshire – Saturday 11th June 2011 As a member of Thyroid Patient Advocacy, you are invited to attend our annual TPA Conference, which will be held on Saturday 11th June 2011 from 12.00noon until 6.00p.m. at The Clifford Suite - The Black Horse Hotel, 16-18 High Street, Skipton BD23 1JZ, West Yorkshire (01756 792 145) The Black Horse seats up to 180 in its large function behind the pub, which has a large garden at the rear backing on to the Canal. It is situated on the High Street that was voted `Best UK High Street' a couple of years ago. Please put this in your diary now. If you have not attended any of our meetings before, these come highly recommend as many of our members will tell you. Skipton is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and the scenery is stunning - and the locals very friendly ) The Black Horse is about 15 minutes walk from the Railway Station or you can hop into a taxi at the Station. There is a very large municipal car park opposite The Black Bull just behind the Town Hall. If you are travelling from a distance, we have lots of B & B accommodation in the surrounding area so you could make this occasion a mini-holiday, or even a maxi-holiday. I would strongly advise booking early though because Skipton (known as `The Gateway to The Dales' is a tourist Market Town and accommodation can be hard to come by during the summer months. Please check out the list of B & B accommodation below. I know you will be delighted to learn that the cost of Tickets for our June Conference is only £10.00 per person. This includes the cost of an excellent 'help yourself' 2 course buffet which includes: Nachos Freshly cut sandwiches Mature cheddar and red onion chutney Egg mayonnaise and rocket Ham and tomato Huommos with paprika oil served with vegetable crudités Spicy pasta salad Tossed mixed salad Garlic bread Soy bubble battered chicken wedges Crispy potato wedges topped with cheese and bacon and then - Strawberry Soufflé and fresh Cream If you have special dietary needs, please let me know when you make the booking what these are specifically and the Chef will be happy to accommodate your needs. After lunch, we relax and listen to speeches given by Dr Peatfield and Dr Skinner (our two TPA Medical Advisors) and this year, Dentist Dr B. Ch.D. has attended many complimentary health courses including cranial osteopathy, Kineseology, single and complex homeopathy and nutrition. He is now being asked to teach his skills to dentists and other health practitioners and has written several articles for health magazines about dental health issues. He has travelled in Europe and many times to the USA to improve his knowledge about the mercury issue and biologically safe dental care (this is part of what he will be talking about plus the fluoride/thyroid connection). and a dental friend from Harley Street , Dr A C Newbury set up the British Chapter of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) a scientific organisation dealing with the mercury issue and other aspects of biologically safe dentistry. Together they have run the most informative courses in the UK on the scientific aspects of safe dental care. He is currently secretary of the IAOMT and chairman of the British Biological Dental Society which incorporates the Holistic Dental Association. The speeches will be followed by a Question and Answer Session between guests and the doctors, which is always very enjoyable and extremely informative. This is followed by the raffling of many and various prizes. Hi Sheila

I would love to come but I am getting made redundant.

As they want me to work (83 mile round trip)at another office which is too far

for a 25 hour job so have told them no go.

I am still hoping to attend but trying to find another job. Lets hope someone

will employ a 56 year old granny. He He! I am rather worried that I am not

letting it get to me, perhaps I should be!!

I had attempted to reply several times but something must have gone wrong with the replies – the reply in my sent box was not blank either. I will be on my own. I am travelling up by train in the morning & staying overnight (on my own) in the Red Lion which is opposite the Black Horse – phone number 01756790718for anyone still looking – just £35 for a single person. It would be lovely if someone else is also staying there so we can have breakfast together.
