In October I had a cytogenetic test. Interpertation: Fish analysis using BCR/ABL probe showed no evidence of clonal abnormality. Consistent with complete cytogenetic remission in blood. Does that qualify me for your zero club? I took your suggestion and went to the Appreciation Album for Dr. Drucker and left a comment. I am happy to be part of this group. It has been very informative and has given me the confidence to push through despite the edema, nausau and bone pain. I am suppossed to have another cytogenetic test in March, but last week my coumadin and liver enzymes level was too high. Am going to have another blood test this coming Tuesday. I go to a great doctor at NY Presbyterian Hospital, so I am only a little concerned. Will keep you all updated. You are all great morale boosters. Thank you Ceil dx 6/06 New York City
Guest guest
Hi there everybody On 1 February I was on Gleevec for 1 year. 2 days ago I got my latest BMB results and they couldn’t find any of those little Philly suckers!! It has been a strange year but the one constant has been this website. I have found all the conversations really interesting. Some very pertinent to me and some less so…. and some that I thought were not pertinent and then a few months down the line they became pertinent. I so much appreciate the people on this site who take the time and trouble to make things easier for the rest of us to understand – I know how hard it sometimes is to marshal one’s thoughts on Gleevec but they still take the trouble. So - I have been saddened by the bickering that has gone on – especially as I don’t really understand what it is all about. The only thing I am sure about is that it is not healthy and a waste of energy so I hope that it has ended and that we can all just get on with dealing with this disease and putting in its place. OK..that’s my 5c worth. Use it – don’t use it. Have a great year and if any of you come to South Africa, let me know. Would love to put some faces to the names. Love Jane
Guest guest
Yes, I agree the bickering is not only unnecessary but counterproductive. It takes away from feeling positive about the weath of information available on this site e.g. sometimes I don't want to read the posts because it might be more bickering. Is it possible we can be a little kind to each other? Guest guest
Jane, I absolutely love South Africa and have had a fascination with it for years. ny Clegg is one of my favorite musical artists--I have all his albums and always go see him when he is in the states, but he hasn't been here for quite some time. We miss him! Also, the pastor of my church is from South Africa--he emigrated to this country when he was 17 and went to college here and then met his wife and stayed on. His father was a pastor in South Africa as well, and I believe he still has family there--a brother who is also a pastor. I can't tell you the name of the town where he is from, but I will try to find out. My husband and I have talked about our dream trip which would be to South Africa to see absolutely everything! Maybe we'll meet you one of these days! Best wishes to you. Hope all is well with your CML treatment. Guest guest
Hi there Vic. Well - as one CMLer to another I hereby guarantee you free accommodation and a tour guide when you come to Cape Town! South Africa is truly beautiful. Tell all the South Africans you know to come home - we need them. I also love ny Clegg and as a true " scatterling of Africa " I urge you to come and see what Africa has to offer.
