Dear Member, this is an automatic message sent out from time to time and it is sent as a reminder as to what needs to be considered when sending out messages for other members to read, so it is really important that you read all of this message and take note of the points specifically raised.

1. When responding to any message, please remember to 'snip' the previous message(s). This means that when you write a message from clicking reply, you must make sure that before you click 'send', that you have deleted everything (not your message of course) but everything other than that, leaving just a few lines or a small quote from the message you are actually replying to. If you don't do this, it causes frustration for fellow members who either use the option to receive a Daily Digest (where they get up to 25 messages in just one email) or those who read direct from the forum web site. Failure to do this could result in your message being rejected.

2. Please be aware that only doctor's initials should be used on the forum if you wish to discuss any doctor you have seen or would like to see. If you are about to see a doctor and want to know if anyone else has seen him or knows about him/her this must be discussed privately and not on the forum. If this is the case, write a message typing in your email address so others can respond to you privately. Our own medical advisers can be mentioned in full and if you are quoting a doctor who is an author this is permissible of course.

3. If you have seen a good doctor who was willing to listen to you and prescribe T3 or natural thyroid extract, then please let Sheila know privately so she can add him/her to her list. On the other hand, if you have seen a doctor who is on Sheila's list who has proved to be not very good with you, then please again let Sheila know.

4. Prescription medication must not be requested on the forum nor must it be offered. Anything to do with prescription medication (other than questions where to get it on the internet - which is in the files anyway), please contact Sheila privately. Any transaction is between private individuals and has nothing to do with TPA.

5. If you wish to pass a link to TPA members to something they might find interesting, either on the Chat or main Thyroid Forum, you must give a hint about that the link will lead to. This is for security purposes, as I have learnt to my horror what happens when you click on some links.

6. If copying information from web sites or books, please give a link to the web site and/or name the author so we will not be in breach of copyright rules.
