Guest guest
Dr Peatfield can't keep up with his emails because there are just far too many. If you want to make an appointment go to the TPA website and find his clinic schedule, then book via his secretary, or at the place you want to see him (depending on where you want to see him). http://www.tpa-uk.org.uk/advisors.php It might take some perseverance to get through on the telephone number, but that is the best way. Miriam > Firstly, I have emailed Dr P re his clinics and have had no reply. Could you please let me know his correct email address in case I have the wrong one. And does he still hold clinics in Castle Donington do you know?
Guest guest
Hi, Here is the list of Dr Peatfield Clinics for this year - there are none at Castle Donnington. http://www.tpa-uk.org.uk/drpeatfield_clinics.php If I was in your shoes, I would be looking to getting myself some tests to measure TSH, Free T4 and T3 so you can see where you are on armour. Tests available from lab 21 and Genova. The adrenal saliva test is from Genova too. Details in the files. thyroid treatment/files/ x > > Hi folks, > > I hope you can help me. Guest guest
Dr Peatfield's office can no longer cope with emails, they, like me, get inundated and found themselves drowning under the huge volume and there were too many to read. We have this information on our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk - so look in the right hand column under TPA News, and open the document 'Dr Peatfield's metabolic Clinic Update' and you can see where he holds his clinics and what dates he will be there. Contact the person responsible for each clinic. He no longer holds a clinic at Castle Donington. If you contact Dr P, it is best done via telephone or FAX (01883 623 125) and if he is engaged or you nobody is answering, leave a message with your name and address, give a brief outline why you need to speak to him and he will get back to you. If you wish, you can arrange a telephone appointment with him. You have to persevere, as he is again inundated with enquiries from so many NHS failures. Have you read the information in our FILES section in the 'Natural Thyroid Extract' folder? Read the file entitled " how to Use natural Thyroid Extract " . There you will see that you need to increase the Armour by half a grain every 3 to 4 weeks until you find your symptoms disappear. You do NOT titrate your dose according to serum thyroid function tests. 2 1/2 grains is not a high dose, it is an average dose. Many need and take much higher doses. Once you have hit the dose that that causes symptoms of hyperthyroidism, the following day, you drop your dose by half a grain and go back onto the dose you were taking before the last increase, and that is the dose your body needs, probably for the rest of your life. If you are experiencing symptoms of hyperthyroidism when you try to increase, this could be because your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc are too low in the reference range, or you have adrenal fatigue, systemic candidiasis, mercury poisoning etc. Any of these will stop the thyroid hormone getting into the cells. Luv - Sheila Having felt constantly exhausted, and having read a lot of info on the forum, I decided to contact dr P but received no reply. I read about adrenal problems but decided I didnt really have those symptoms. So, rightly or wrongly, but in desperation, I decided to begin self medicating armour. I gradually increased the dose as per the instructions on the forum, but I am now taking 2 and a half grains a day, and really havent felt any difference. I am also taking vit c and selenium. Could anybody advise me whether I need to increase the dose more, as this seems to be quite a high dose already that i am taking. Or what else can i do to help myself? I am now seriously considering doing an adrenal test as I have had so little success with armour. ,_._,___
