Guest guest
Actually your TT3 isn't a useless measure. TT3 will only be a little bit higher than FT3. Total T3 measures both the free and bound hormones. At least that's what I learned from the Graves support group. FWIW, YMMV. Thanks Guys - you just wasted your money as had this done only a month before. But the tests came back as follows;March AprilTSH - 1.5 TSH - 2.1Ft4 - 11 (was 10 in 2008) Ft4 - 12Total t3 - 1.6 Total T3 - 1.8 (yes useless i KNOW)Why would the TSH have raised in a month? and the Freet4 only gone up one point? The FSH, LH, Prolcatin and Testosterone all came back within range - although I could have sworn I had excess testosterone levels for a number of very good reasons.anyway - the antobodies came back at 16.9 of (0-50) so thankfully no hashi's. Where do I go from here? I feel a bit lost again..
Guest guest
Hi there If that's the case - would you said my Free t3 was low? I have a docs appt this afternoon and would be keen to have some ammo. I can't seem to find any coherent answers as total t3 is 1.8 (was 1.6) but all the ranges are showing figures in the hundreds. fingers crossed for me please! going to negotiate for some drugs. sarah Actually your TT3 isn't a useless measure. Guest guest
Hi, so, I know it's not the right test- but what was the range for the TT3? can't comment if we don't know how high it is TSH does fluctuate slightly even through the course of a day- what would be significant is if it continued to rise. The imporatne thing is that FT4 has increased, just not by much and it's still near the bottom of the range ( assuming range is 9-22) On Thu, May 5, 2011 at 11:18 AM, Chalet Consultant <twistedfairymagazine@...> wrote: okay so managed to change docs, she was happy to order freet3 and anti-bodies as well as consider the PCOS and pituitary angle.Of course the lab decided in their infinite wisdom to CANCEL the FT3 and do the TSH, TOTAL3 and FT4 intead. Guest guest
Hi there this is the problem that I can't find a range for TT3 that matches what I was given. think it was in the middle of the docs range - something like a high of 2.something. found it - (1.1-2.7 nM) - mine is 1.6/8 The free t4 has been low since 2008 - then it was 10, last month it was 11 and last week it was 12. It is working jolly hard to keep me warm! The variety of NHS trusts have ranges starting from 9-12 and going up to 22-26. So very varied. I'd say 9-22 was a bit off. I did notice that during my cycle which started on the 15th (blood tests taken on the 19th) that I was considerably warmer and more stable BBT. So maybe that's had an effect. > > > Hi, > so, I know it's not the right test- but what was the range for the TT3? can't comment if we don't know how high it is > TSH does fluctuate slightly even through the course of a day- what would be significant is if it continued to rise.
