Guest guest
Hi, looking for advice. I was on 75mcg of thyroxine for many years but still had hypo symptoms, with great difficulty I persuaded my GP to increase my Thyroxine to 100mcg, and slowly but surely all my hypo symptoms improved. My TSH levels were very low as expected and I had mild buzzing in my ears ever since. Recently about 3 or 4 months ago I started having double vision, then came dizziness. The GP I saw the 2nd time noticed my TSH was very low, think there was also a note about my liver test although I found out about this indirectly. She told me I was taking to much Thyroxine. I had already suspected it was linked to this and had reduced my thyroxine to 75mcg and was referred to my Endo. 2 Months later my TSH was retested but to my surprise is still very LOW, this was not commented on by my own GP. I suggested I might be Toxic with T4 which he disregarded. My endo thought it was nerolgicall condition wich he says this sort of thing hapens a lot during the winter. I do not agree with this because reducing my throxine to 75mcg made a big difference to my symptoms, yet my TSH is still very low. I think I'm having difficulty converting T4 to T3 I'm still not well and still have very loud buzzing in my ears and sight problems. I plan to discuss all this with Dr P once I get more info from my GP & fill in Dr P's form. In the meantime would it be worth while comming off my Thyroxine for a short while to clear out the backlog of T4. If so how long should/could I do this for, here are my lab results:- 26/03/04 TSH 0.19, FT4 19 06/05/04 TSH <0.05, FT4 22 29/10/04 TSH 0.07, FT4 22 [TSH 0.15-3.5, FT4 8-27] 15/07/05 TSH 0.58, FT4 16 [TSH 0.15-3.5, FT4 8-27] 03/02/06 TSH 0.23, FT4 17 [TSH 0.15-3.5, FT4 8-27] 10/11/06 TSH <0.05, FT4 21 [TSH 0.2-4.5, FT4 9-24 26/02/07 TSH <0.05, FT4 21 [TT3 1.9 TSH 0.2-4.5, FT4 9-24,TT3 0.9-2.4] ??/11/08 TSH 0.01, FT4 20 [Reference range unknown] 16/09/10 ??????
