Probably

not Lizzie, and if you feel you are happy to continue the experiment until the

time you see your Endo. then at least you will know by that time whether it is

working for you or not. However, be prepared if you are still suffering these

symptoms to stand your ground and tell him very assertively that you have found

T3 alone works for you best of all and that you would now like to change your

prescription from Erfa back to the synthetic T3 only.

Hi Sheila,

Thank you for your reply, but have I given it long enough on the switch back to

Erfa to see how things pan out?

Love Lizzie

Lizzie - always remember:

Good

Medical Practice: Duties of a doctor

The

duties of a doctor registered with the General Medical Council

http://www.gmc-uk.org/guidance/good_medical_practice/duties_of_a_doctor.asp

I have

removed those duties that are not relevant to the particular problem you are

concerned about right now, i.e. worrying about whether your doctor would have

an excuse to remove you from his practice.

Patients

must be able to trust doctors with their lives and health. To justify that

trust you must show respect for human life and you must:

·

Make the care of your patient

your first concern

·

Work in partnership with

patients

o

Listen to patients and

respond to their concerns and preferences

o

Give patients the information

they want or need in a way they can understand

o

Respect patients' right to reach

decisions with you about their treatment and care

o

Support patients in caring for

themselves to improve and maintain their health

You

are personally accountable for your professional practice and must always be

prepared to justify your decisions and actions.

I now have to construct an email to my endo telling him that I have done this

T3 trial off my own back and I am very worried that he may discharge me for

messing about without his advice. In the long run it should work out easier

because my pharmacy can supply the T3 as my GP has prescribed it before when I

was on combination therapy, whereas I am having to get the Erfa from the

hospital pharmacy.

Please reassure me that I am doing the right thing.
