Guest guest
Hi Pat I would be very interested if you can locate this research-I'm sure i am not the only one ! My blood tests post surgery are virtually useless.Perhaps Dr P knows about it and it can be located that way . Was it put on Medscape and if so when ? There must be some way of locating it .Its time they did this sort of research again .Best wishes
Guest guest
I haven't time to check it out Pat, but could it be somewhere in this lot http://www.hotthyroidology.com/downloads/abstractbook.pdf Oh how i wish i could locate the Swedish research the Endo in Surrey told me about well over 20 years ago In which they showed that Graves patients bodies are so sensitised to such incredibly high levels of thyroid hormone that after RAI or Surgury the so called " normal parameters on Thyroid tests will no longer apply My husband is proof of this since written right across his notes at Charing Cross Hospital is " treat on symptoms not on blood tests " I also think that Thyroid Hormone Resistance or damage to thyroid hormone receptors plays a part in the problems so my patients experience post RAI or surgury Pat
Guest guest
Just to add my voice to this. My endo said only doctors who do not know what they are doing with Graves / Thyroid are obsessed with normal blood results. He told me that hyper patients are used to being run high – at the top or just over normal range. Any doctor worth their salt will tell you the same. In fact even my GP told me that he deliberately overdoses some ex hyper patients on thyroxine as they are happier at the top of or just over normal range. I hope this helps. I have Graves too and am currently contemplating my treatment options after a few months of feeling like I’m losing my mind on CBZ. Emailed my endo today to say, that’s it, I’m at my limit, we need to do something else as I can’t carry on like this. Unfortunately, the options are not looking that tempting either!! You will probably find references to treating on symptoms not on bloods on someone like Elaine ’s website or in her book on Graves. If I get a sec I’ll have a look for you. Good luck with everything. Best wishes My husband is proof of this since written right across his notes at Charing Cross Hospital is " treat on symptoms not on blood tests " Freelance Fundraiser & Copywriter 07810 783 337 I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter.SPAMfighter has removed 3514 of my spam emails to date.Do you have a slow PC?
