Guest guest
Hi Sian I'm sorry I don't have the answer to your question, but I was wondering if you're having tests done privately, who takes your blood for you? I may need to go privately in the future and did wonder how you get your bloods taken if you're not going through your doctor's surgery. Also do they email you or send them in writing?> Many thanks> Sian>
Guest guest
Hi Gill, I have had the test pack from Genova for a while and had been stressing about where to get the blood taken. I couldn't find any private clinics local to me on the internet and had even contemplated trying to take the blood myself!! As a last resort i asked the receptionist at my nhs dr's and she said she couldn't see a problem with them taking it. ( ithought they may charge, but they didn't) the phlebotomist was very good and said she had carried out quite a few private blood tests and wasn't at all bothered. so id'd ask at your gp's first. Guest guest
Hi Sian...thanks for replying. That's great that your GP surgery could do this for you. I wonder if it varies from practice to practice. I haven't got to that stage yet, but if I do I'll try my surgery first. Hope you get your results through soon. Guest guest
HI My surgery would not take my blood, but that does not surprise me. They only take it if my GP orders the test and the last one done this week proved difficult for them to get any. The only time that a surgery has taken blood for any other reason was when I joined breast cancer research when they wanted some of my blood for research into the causes of cancer. I assume that they are partly government backed. Kathleen > > > Hi Sian...thanks for replying. That's great that your GP surgery could > do this for you. Guest guest
My bloods were received by them yesterday morning and i just wondered how longit took them to get back to you with the results? Also do they email you or sendthem in writing? Hi Sian, Results take roughly between a week to 10 days, depending on which tests you are having done. The results will go straight to you – either via snail mail or via email or both (you specify what you want.... in most cases they do both, particularly if you phone them at the appointed time and ask again to have them emailed). Best wishes,

Guest guest
Hi Gill, i went to my local gym as it has an NHS blood test inside it, i just asked the lady was she able to do a private blood draw and then i take it away with me. She had no problem doing this and i have had it done about 4 times now. So i would just ask/ring up a couple of your local blood drawing places and hopefuilly they have no problem with it. > > > Hi Sian > > I'm sorry I don't have the answer to your question, but I was wondering > if you're having tests done privately, who takes your blood for you?
