Guest guest
Perhaps you need to increase your T3 - 20mcgs is a very small dose. Ask your GP for an increase, but don't ever take any thyroid hormone replacements the same morning as you have your blood drawn or it will give a false reading. Your free T3 will be too high and your doctor will want to lower your dose. Don't let him. He should know that T3 in humans has a half life of just 2 days. However, the effect of T3 peaks in the blood a couple of hours or so after taking it. Do you have any thyroid function test results done recently so we can see whether the inactive thyroid hormone T4 is converting to the active T3. We would need the reference range for each test done Babs. Luv - Sheila Thats fantastic Dee, happy to hear you are in top form... gives me lots of hope !! I am also on combination, at the moment 75 mcg levothyroxine & 20mcg T3 I am not so sleepy during the day but still haven't found motivation or strength to do all the things that I 'think' about, my head is so very busy most days but no staminia to follow through. May your journey in good health continue. Luv Babs > I decided to take t3 alongside levothyroxine and started on 150mg levo and 4o t3, within 4 weeks i felt a lot better and after 6 weeks my tsh was 3.1 and i feel more normal than i have in years. > I also gave up smoking 7 weeks ago and enrolled in the gym, and am proud to have lot my first stone. > If someone had told me a year ago that i would be having rai, giving up smoking and managing to lose weight too i would have laughed, i hope this helps anyone that is struggling as i was not very long ago > Take care > Dee xx
