When I asked him about that....he said, to lower blood pressure you get rid of water..... he used this one because it spares potassium also. C. Guest guest
Taking spironolactone (Aldactone) without having high blood pressure is usually no problem, since it's a fairly weak diuretic and not likely to drop your BP too far. If it did, you would know it because you'd feel lightheaded when you stand up. If this doesn't happen (and assuming you have good kidneys - a separate issue), you should be fine. Let us know if it helps with the bags under the eyes! R > > > hi everyone, > just have a few questions about spironolactone{dieretic}. Do you have to take it every day or can you only take it when you feel like you are retaining water? Esther

I was just taking it when needed. I am not sure it will do alot for the eye edema? I took it because I had some congestion in one ear and also in my vocal chords. Usually I would take it for a couple days and that would take care of the problem at the time. But at least you know Dr. Druker had the same thinking about diruretics. C. People are constantly asking me if I have a cold, especially over the phone and my ears feel like they are clogged sometimes. I will take my first pill tomorrow at least I'll feel better about it and knowing that Dr. Druker had the same thinking. thanks again and have a good week. I will start the pill tomorrow and will let you know how the bags are doing > thanks again Esther
