Guest guest
Does anyone know the ranges NHS hospitals use for DHEA tests which come with synacthen tests. I have had synacthen tests done at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where the reference range is 0.4 - 4.9 units umol/l. My last result was 2.7 which they are saying is normal. But the ranges from 2 private labs for saliva testing are 2.67 - 14.17 nmol/L and 3 - 10ng/ml. I know they are using different measurements, but both private labs show my results as borderline low at 2.7nmol/L and 3ng/ml. Is there such a big difference in blood tests and saliva tests, or is Addenbrookes using particularly low ranges.I would be grateful for any info. Thanks.
