Guest guest
Increase your dose of Erfa by half a grain (30mgs) and after 2 to 3 weeks, if no adverse reaction, increase by another 30mgs and see how that works. Luv - Sheila Can anyone help. Does anyone take t4 along with there erfa. I am new to erfa and feel a little hypo, I was on a large dose of thryoxine t4 and t3 and ive dropped when starting erfa so they maybe why. If anyone does take t4 with erfa, doesn't this defeat the object of taking thyroid natural meds. Any help would be appreciated. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I then would be on 4 and half grains, I dont think my body can tolerate the high t3. I have spoke to my doctors regarding the tests i had done and my iron levels are a little low but nothing to worry about they said. They said they would post the results to me. Guest guest
Your thyroid hormone replacement simply cannot work with low iron levels. If your doctors are not worried about this, shame on them, but they are not being taught the FACTS about thyroid absorption at medical school level. You need to get the results with the reference range for your last blood tests and post them here. With low iron, you need something like Ferrous Fumerate 200mcgs daily, sometimes twice or three times daily if your iron level is really low. You take high doses of vitamin C with iron and always take the iron with food. Unless you sort your iron levels out, you will have problems with any thyroid hormone replacement. However, please remember that you must NEVER take any form of iron or calcium anywhere near to thyroid hormone replacement. It must be taken at least 4 hours apart.
