Guest guest
hi Carole, mine did something similar- though I was allowed to go on and increase T4 to a more reasonable level of 125mcg( which seems to be an average full replacement dose). The problem here is that as always some folk don't react in the 'classic' way and are more reactive than others- depending on the activity of the pituitary response.- the big problem is convincing a doc who goes by the numbers that you need more if you still have symptoms. I said once' what use nice numbers if I still feel just as bad?' Has doc done a FT4 and preferably FT3 as well- this may indicate that you do need an increased dose. > thyroid treatment > From: h5@...> Date: Thu, 2 Jun 2011 15:08:33 +0000> Subject: did my tsh drop too fast?> > Hi> > looking back on figures, I recalled someone thought my initial numbers changed too fast given my med dose. (I was on 25mcg thyroxine to begin then 50 and stayed there.) did it drop too fast? What is considered a "normal" or "average" time frame for this level of tsh reduction? Anyone know please?> > 16/4/2007 tsh 89.6 (0.3-6.0) ft4 4.4 (10-25) on 25mcg then 50mcg> 21/5/2007 tsh 59.7 ft4 9.9> 17/7/2007 tsh 0.9 ft4 16. > > Thanks> Carole> > > > ------------------------------------> > TPA is not medically qualified.
