Guest guest
Tracey - your test results show that you ARE hypothyroid and that you should be treated. Your TSH should be near to 1.0 or just under and your free T4 is WAY below the bottom of the reference range and your free T3 is also right at the bottom of the range. You do need to replace your thyroid hormone Tracey as you will only get worse, and if you are not wanting to go back onto levothyroxine only, I will send you my list of doctors who prescribe either synthetic T4/T3 combination, T3 alone or natural thyroid extract privately. You can then ask your GP to refer you and this needs doing quickly. However, I know you are talking to Dr P later this month and perhaps meanwhile, you should arrange to get the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile done via Genova Diagnostics as I am sure he will be recommending that you do this. To answer your question no i didn't take any thyroid meds before my bloods were taken, please could you take a look and my test results. Warm Regards .xx TSH 4.36 (0.3-3.94) T3 3.8 (3.7-6.7) T4 8.3 (12.3-20.2)
Guest guest
As your T3 and T4 are so low, together with the too high TSH surely you need more medication. TSH 4.36 (0.3-3.94) T3 3.8 (3.7-6.7)T4 8.3 (12.3-20.2) And yes, bowel problems can definitely be connected with hypothyroidism. When I am undermedicated I get a combination of days of constipation then the runs. As soon as I get some T3 my bowels work normally. If you are within the reference range, even slightly, they will not do anything, but if you are outside the range they STILL will not do anything. What is the point of having tests and reference ranges when doctors aren't even taking notice of them. Lilian
Guest guest
This could be due to one or more of the associated conditions that go along with the symptoms of hypothyroidism that could be stopping your thyroid hormone from being fully utilised at the cellular level. Check out the two attached documents - one giving the reasons why you might be feeling as you do right now, and the other showing scientific studies showing the connection between low minerals/vitamins and hypothyroidism. Ask your doctor to test your levels of ferritin, B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc and when the results come through, post the numbers here on the forum, together with the reference range for each test done. Are you taking Selenium and at least 1000mgs Vitamin C daily? Luv - Sheila Hi After seeing Dr P I am on day 12 of 2 grains Armour, up till 4 days ago I was really feeling much better but I am slowly going down and dont feel well at all today. Guest guest
Hi Sheila Yes I am taking selenium and 4 x 1000 vit c. I have just had a weeks break from progesterone cream. I had hysterectomy years ago . Think I will use cream continually in future, but it may be a coincidence. I have asked for all the mineral tests but my GP just did ferritin and B12. I think he thinks its all in my head as the Endo says I'm within range !! I'm getting anxious now as I was getting so much better and now getting worse each day. Thanks again Debbie xxx
Guest guest
Hi Hope you can help. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 4 months ago, I was for 3 months on 50mcg of levothyroxine a day but this has been put up to 100mcg. I have started taking multi vitamins and Q10, making me feel a little better but still not 100%, I am still easily tired, would the thyro complex or t convert help? My doctor only tests my TSH and have asked a couple of times for my T3 to be done but to no avail. Any advice would be greta. Thanks
