Hi Susie, let us know what the dosage is for the Blue Bonnet

iron you are taking and we can then let you know whether you need to raise

this.

Hi Shiela

You asked me in my last post to put up my ferritin results. My last one was 27.

This was a drop from 30, but my haemaglobin had gone up to 12.2, which is the

best it's ever been. i'm now taking 3xblue bonnett iron tabs with vit c a day.

Do you think I should be taking more?

Thanks

Susie

Hi Sheila

They're 27mg each. They're a lot lower than standard ferrous sulphate etc I

think because they're absorbed much better. I'm taking 3, but it says only 1 a

day on the bottle. No idea if I should be taking loads more, or even if that

would be safe. Also, as I'm on both levo and calcium, it's difficult to spread

them out through the day, so there's only so much I can take.

Thanks

Susie

have you had your copper levels checked? i do not know the mechanism but i

gather that copper is important too

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_deficiency_anemia

Copper is necessary for iron uptake, and a copper deficiency can result in iron

deficiency. Copper deficiency can sometimes be caused by excessive zinc or

vitamin C supplementation.

thanks Chris. Yes, my copper is fine. My zinc is low so I am supplementing zinc,

but I'm making sure I take it away from the iron.
