Hi Georgie:

With the iodine protocol, you will need to start taking your celtic sea salt in

water as well as on food. And part of the ADRENAL protocol is to take 1/4 to 1/2

teaspoon of celtic sea salt in 1/2 cup of water as soon as you wake up and again

in the afternoon. For adrenals I'd also suggest Pantothenic acid (vitamin

B5)...this has helped many people, myself included.

If the adrenals are in bad shape, taking too much iodine may upset them. You may

want to start very slowly there, maybe 6.25 mgs a day until your adrenals start

to repair. If you do have Hashi's you should join the iodine group (if you

haven't already done this) for support along the way... MacGilchrist has

personal experience with Hashi's and iodine and I'm sure she would be happy to

help you with any questions here.

As far as all the supplements......that's just the way it goes for all of us :0)

You'll get used to it.....

Cheers,

JOT

I am also wanting to start the Iodine protocol, but feel unsure about doing this

in conjunction with Erfa and HC -- seems like a lot of medication all at once?

Thank you Jot, that is very helpful. I didn't know about taking salt in water

for the adrenals, will start with that as well. I just feel a bit overwhelmed

and frightened about all the stuff I'm taking which is totally unsupported by my

GP, and just want to check I'm on the right track and not taking the wrong

things or whatever. It is hard when your brain doesn't work properly anymore!!!

Takes me a long time to process information and make sense of it.

Thanks again,

Georgie :)

Thanks Sheila - I am using unrefined celtic sea salt.

Georgie :)

Hi, are you talking about the adrenal saliva test? If so, I have already done

that and the results came back very low indeed. I know my TSH is massively high

- I am taking erfa and hopefully it will come down soon.

Thanks a lot,

Georgie :)

high, it should be about 1.0 or lower.   angel.

Georgie,

The rule is adrenals first, thyroid second..... If the adrenals are in a mess

they thyroid meds will just make you feel worse....

You know that the adrenals are not good and you've waited to see what the doc

result is.... You've done it all the right way round....

Now, get some nutri adfrenal extra - you can take up to 6 per day (I do 2

because I hate them I hate the taste, the smell, the look, the bottle, the name

- everything).... and if the saliva results are bad enough, some HC. you

can get a HC dosing schedule off Val on the adrenals forum

NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

It all takes time though, has taken me almost 2 years to help adrenals and I

wasn't that bad to start with.....

Hi Sheila,

I haven't been taking anything for my adrenals, because I was trying to get the

GP to do SST - however, on the endo's advice, she is only doing serum cortisol

and will refer for SST if that is abnormal.

So, do you think it's the lack of adrenal support that is holding me back? I

want to start HC but will wait for results of serum cortisol test, just in case

GP decides to send me for SST (seems unlikely, but you never know!)

Thanks ,

That is very helpful to know. Perhaps explains why I'm not seeing any real

improvement. Do you think it's better to stop thyroid replacement for now, or

should I carry on with the erfa?

Thanks for your help,

georgie :)
