Hi Jackie, i have had mine removed. About 9 of them in total, and while i did

see health improvements it wasnt as much as i expected BUT i had alot of things

going on, Yeast problems, GI problems, thyroid/adrenals and high levels of

mercury. I dont know which came first or which caused which either lol.

I got mine removed by (the guy who is going to the june conference)

if you are coming the conference maybe have a word with him ?

I know i didnt pay anywhere near into the thousands and that was for 9 fillings

removed (honestly cant remeber the cost tho as it was about 5 years ago) i think

it was a few hundered.

The consultation alone is to cost me £50 and then probably another £2,000+ for

the work.

Hi Jackie; I had my fillings all replaced nearly 15 years ago. Sadly it didn't

make a noticable difference to my health although I am still glad it was done.

(one less thing to worry about!).

Hi Jaki

I had all my amalgam fillings removed in 2002. I didn't notice any health

benefits and I started taking T3 in about 2003. Since then I've had to have

another amalgam filling as it was the only thing that would do the job.. All

my dental work is private and cost wasn't the issue, it was just that nothing

was available that would do the job.

Hi Jackie,

I felt that I did not start to get better until after I had mine removed – the best thing I have ever done for my health. BUT you need to have them removed safely & then probably chelate safely too. See the frequent-dose-chelation group for more on this. Within a few days of mine being totally removed ( & mouth metal free) I started to feel so much better, and then frequent dose chelation really got things moving.

Val

I wonder if anyone on this forum has had theirs removed and replaced with composites and did their health improve?

Hi Jackie, although I haven't had mine out (yet) I thought it might be helpful to let you know the problems I had with an amalgam filling that I feel has probably had a huge impact on my health. I was diagnosed with Chronic fatigue last year in May- later diagnosed with adrenal and thyroid issues by Dr P. In July I went to the dentist with what I can only describe as a metallic taste in my mouth - this I found was caused by a leaking amalgam filling. It was removed but I then had a persistent metallic taste all around the roof of my mouth and around the gum for 6 months after. I read up and surprise, surprise discovered the connection between mercury, adrenals and thyroids. The awful thing now is that although I'm slowly going through treatment for thyroid and adrenals, I don't know if it will be totally effective because I now have what is effectively mercury poisoning and that is a horrible worry knowing that I could be permanently disabled.I don't want to worry you but I do think it's important to know what can go wrong with the amalgams - and the average dentist won't tell you that. So I'm saying, it's not just about immediate and obvious improvements in your health, it's also about eliminating any future risk from potential mercury poisoning. I do appreciate it's difficult knowing where best to spend money. If I do get well, I shall certainly have mine out.best wishes,Alison>> Hi> > I'm just off to see a dentist who does 'safe removal of amalgam fillings'. Good luck with whatever you decide to do Jackie.Just a few thoughts re mercury testing - as I've been this route myself. I did ask my GP to do a mercury blood test - but subsequently found that this along with many other tests for mercury is notoriously unreliable. If you google Andy Cutler, he recommends a hair elements test via a specific lab in the states - he offers help with interpreting the test thru one of the chelation groups. Some people say - if you've got amalgam fillings, you've certainly got some mercury in your body so questionable whether a test is worthwhile or not.All best Alison>> Hi everyone - there's been quite a mix of thought provoking responses to> this, which I appreciate very much.
