Hi

You should also be taking large doses of vitamin C (to bowel

tolerance - e.g. 4/5000mgs daily) to help iron absorption. Also, do take any

form of iron or calcium at least four hours away from any thyroid hormone

medication.

I've just started taking Lactoferrin (also

marketed as Laktoferrin) which besides being anti-fungal and many other things,

is supposed to help with absorption of iron and remove any negative side

effects. Can't say if it's working yet, I'm also taking Gentle Iron by Solgar

with it. You're supposed to take 20mg to 100mg alongside your iron supps.

Preferably not apolactoferrin which can remove iron rather than increase it

(both Jarrow and Life Extension do this). I bought mine from revital.co.uk by

Allergy Research Group (I decided to go for the added colostrum). It's derived

from both egg and milk so check ingredients if you are intolerant to either of

these.
