Guest guest
Lynda - thank you for reponding. Our stories do seem similar. My intolerance has been negated since it started. The first Endo I was referred to wouldn't see me. A junior doctor told me the Consultant said no-one had a problem taking thyroxine! Ho ho. My present GP is more cooperative but I have to tell him what I think I should do as he has no previous experience of thyroxine intolerance. I was thinking of trying Evotrox next but am disheartended by what you say. If it is more potent does it mean I would need less of it? I would still have to take it in divided doses so maybe it might be worth a try. What do you think? I take 75/100 mcg on alternate days but I can only take 75mcg at present and this means that pretty soon I will become fatigued again. I have been unable to clean the house for about three weeks so today I thought stuff it and took 10mg Prednisolone. I have cleaned the house from top to bottom and feel great. But this is not something to do often. Steroids bring their own problems. How much Levo do you take and do you take it in one dose? Do you fancy trying it in divided doses like I do? Nobody told me to do it but I had no alternative and it makes a huge difference to me. Your symptom of diarrhoea reminds me of something I found on the internet which is worth reading. the link is:- http://qjmed.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/95/2/125-a As the second Endo I saw did not believe in thyroxine intolerance I took a print-out of this and insisted I try dales capsules. They make thyroxine capsules with a choice of filler but I am not sure if they can be ordered by a GP. Your palpitations have me stumped. They are usually a sign of too much thyroxine, what does your GP think about them?
Guest guest
Hi - I have already tried low and split dosages of Levo. and that doesn't work for me either. My original dosage was 125mg/150mg Levo. on alternate days, but now I can't even tolerate 12.5mg - I gather my levels are now horribly low as you can imagine and I'm getting pretty tired, along with much hair loss, dry skin and bruising as you'd expect. My GP has finally carried out some blood/stool tests for me which I should get the results to on my visit to the End. on 26th May, but It's all taking so long inbetween each drs/endo. visit. I myself am still convinced as I have been from the start that my problem is with candida overgrowth in the gut, causing a 'leaky gut' which causes me to be unable to absorbe the required nutrients/drugs I need. However, treating the candida is yet another problem. I've tried one 'absolute certainty' of a cure....which didn't work, now I'm about to start again!. x > > Lynda - thank you for reponding. Guest guest
1. Have you considered getting tested by Genova Diagnostics to see whether you do have candida antibodies. Do the Candida questionnaire, together with the adrenal questionnaire and magnesium questionnaire that are in our FILES section, accessible from the Home Page of this forum web site. Scroll down through the list of FOLDERS to the one entitled 'Medical Questionnaires'. If you score high for the Candida one, you can start treatment yourself. Check out the 'Candida' Folder and you will see all you need to know there, including one Internet Pharmacy where you can buy the anti-fungal Diflucan (fluconazole) very cheaply. What was the 'absolute certainty' of the candida 'cure' you tried, that obviously didn't work? 2. Luv - Sheila 3. 4. It's all taking so long in-between each drs/endo. visit.
