Guest guest
Hi I got " the book " (the great thyroid scandal....) and it says (p198) in the vitamin list to take 2g calcium and 1 magnesium, but Im on slow release calcium channel blockers. Doesnt this mean I cant use calcium supplements because they will be blocked from working right? added info... Im in range on FT4 and TSH thyroid tests, but still feel ill, so am going to do 24hr urine ft4/ft3 test when I can afford it to see if its converting, because apart from symptoms, when on 25mcg thyroxine daily I was tsh 0.10 and now I only take 12.5mcg thyroxine and when I called was told its TSH 0.03 Carole
Guest guest
Carole, you will learn that it's never enough to say " I'm in range on fT4 and TSH thyroid tests. We need to know exactly WHERE in the range your results lie. Give us the numbers and the reference range for each test done and we will help with the interpretation. Remember also that you are not treating your thyroid function test results - that's just a bit of paper - your doctor should be treating your symptoms and signs and titrating your dose until the amount you are taking starts to remove your symptoms and you feel better.
